A crowd-pleaser from the beginning of his time on the court, Charles Barkley has always been known to keep his fans excited with his blocked shots and dunks, camouflaging his short height and overweight frame. Despite that, he could easily get on a defensive rebound.

Post his retirement, Charles became a television analyst on TNT and CBS Sports. He has been presenting the TNT show with his fellow analyst and former NBA star Kenny Smith. They recently got involved in a rib-tickling conversation on the show.

Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith’s funny banter continues

The hilarious duo – Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith keep their fans entertained with their jokes. After playing it well on the court, they are now making new records of making people laugh their guts out. In a YouTube video of their TNT show ‘Inside The NBA, Chuck asked Kenny ‘the Jet’, the difference between ‘coaching’ and ‘criticism’.

The way Kenny replied left everyone in splits. He said – “Charles, you’re out of shape and you need to get better. That’s coaching. But if I’m just looking at you and go, well that’s an ugly suit and you’re a fat butt, that’s criticism.”

On seeing Chuck taking the statement by surprise, Kenny hysterically replied – “See, you felt the difference,” and they laughed it off. Despite his upfront nature, is there another side to the ‘Crisco Kid’?

Charles’s way of giving back to the community

Although, Charles endorses major brands like – Coca-Cola, Nike, McDonald’s, T-Mobile, etc. Moreover, he has made various real estate and private equity investments; he is a renowned angel investor and producer.

Barkley is a believer in giving back to the people, community, and society. Despite his confrontational tendencies having created several controversies over time, there is a side to him that is more humble and adoring.

In 1995, he started The Charles Barkley Foundation, a non-profit charity through which he makes contributions. He has made enormous donations to many HBCUs. In the year 2020, Barkley donated $1 million to Miles College and Tuskegee University each. Further, last year, he donated another $1 million to Spelman College.

In addition to that, Barkley issued a relief fund during the coronavirus pandemic, to provide financial assistance to medical staff in need.
