It’s a matchup of a superstar NBA roster against the most hyped rookie in years. Obviously, no one wants to miss that. Not even Scottie Pippen. He arrived in Paris in time for the gold medal game between US and France. And he had the most unlikely run-in we ever saw coming. Kai Cenat is in Paris to mix some live Olympic viewing with work and fun. He got snapped with some of the Team USA titans while he was at it and surprised his followers. But nothing was more surprising than his brief hangout with the Pip. Not the meet-cute in the city of love we anticipated.

We have evidence of this crossover courtesy of both Pippen and Cenat. They shared a short clip and a picture on their respective Instagram Stories with Scottie adding an extra excited, “Ran into [Kai Cenat] in Paris,” as if he knew we couldn’t believe our eyes.

The interaction was the highlight. Pippen looks like he’s infected by the YouTube comic’s laugh bug that he’s initially repeating Cenat’s sentences. Except when Scottie says, “What’s up bro,” he looks like a dad trying hard to impress his kids when he meets their favorite celebrity.

At 5’6″, the Twitch titan is looking hilariously dwarfed by the 6’8″ NBA champ. He states the obvious, “You’re so tall, bro, goddamn! You’re dope man!” and Pippen agrees like he didn’t know this fact all his life.

In typical Cenat fashion, he talks himself up, says, “I’m working on basketball too right now. I’m about to go into the league and stuff like that. Like, hoop.” But the 6x NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist asked with a fair bit of skepticism, “You got some game right there?” And when Cenat says several yeahs, Pippen asked again, “Are you serious man?” We understand your skepticism Scottie no matter what Kai Cenat wants you to believe.

Kai Cenat’s NBA crossover is not how he imagines

It’s not the first time Kai Cenat would flex his basketball skills which we’re still not convinced of. The closest we’ve seen him get to the NBA was when he was Jaylen Brown’s prop in the Slam Dunk Contest at the All-Star Weekend. We remember the embarrassing results of that one! Yet that did amazing things for Cenat’s confidence who later proclaimed, “I’m frying [Michael Jordan],” in a 1vs1 matchup. Well, he didn’t mean win. He just meant that he needed to score one point over His Airness to feel mighty.

Given Pippen’s skepticism and Cenat’s cringe-worthy performance in the All-Star celebrity game, we doubt even that’s possible. But his connections to the NBA world are unmatched. He’s been on the road with Team USA and hanging out with Stephen Curry and LeBron James which blew the Internet.

Now he’s in Paris for IRL streams, including the men’s basketball finals between Team USA and the host nation, France. So meeting Pippen seems fated but yet a crossover we never saw coming.
