7’6” NBA Legend Caps off Dwyane Wade’s China Trip for $54 Billion Company

Dwyane Wade’s back in China to promote his signature shoes, Way of Wade once more. His grand Chinese escapade turned into a reunion with an old rival. D-Wade shared the photographic evidence of his meeting with former Houston Rockets center, Yao Ming. The 7’6′ giant is still making everyone look puny, even seated.
Joining these NBA rivals’ reunion were top execs from Li Ning, the $54 billion parent company behind Way of Wade. Could this hint at Yao Ming joining D-Wade’s sneaker brand? That’s still unknown. A tour in China has been Wade’s annual event for as long as he has been affiliated with Li Ning. After the global pandemic halted it for three years, he returned to Asia in 2023 with his eldest son, Zaire Wade, along with D’Angelo Russell and Udonis Haslem.
UD, who has a collection in Way of Wade, skipped this year. But Zaire is with him, along with a couple of coaches, Chris Johnson and Cory Smith. His team hosted a basketball camp for young kids this year too and the 3x champion himself taught some NBA-level tricks.

Perhaps the country’s very own NBA star, Yao Ming, was sharing his tips and tricks. He currently heads the Chinese Basketball Association and could’ve been present in an official capacity.
Ming was a nightmare to some of the Miami Heat stars. After making winning championships tough on Shaquille O’Neal during his Lakers era, he didn’t let him off when he moved to Miami and teamed up with Wade. No bitter feelings remain from that on-court rivalry, though. Shortly after Wade’s 2023 tour, O’Neal was in China promoting the NBA and reunited with Yao Ming too. He even posted the customary Instagram proof and wrote, “Always good seeing my brother @yao.”
That speaks of Yao Ming’s unbeatable popularity still felt in NBA circles. Even through his ever-busy schedule, The Flash couldn’t skip seeing his old rival.

Dwyane Wade’s busy to-do list
It’s so far unclear what’s next on Wade’s itinerary and if he’s got more things planned in China. The Oscar-nominated former NBA star recently wrapped the All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis hosting his annual Spades Tournament.
In collaboration with his other business partner, Stance, he’s been hosting the Spades Tournament for a decade. But this is the first year he actually won. He’s popped up in interviews in between and dropped his new podcast episode. The latest episode of The Why showcases Wade’s varied business interests that also reach the hospitality industry.
