An illustrious basketball career featuring a long list of accolades and a $500 million net worth. What more could you ask for from a man? But this success has always shadowed Shaquille O’Neal’s personal life. Back in 2009, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal parted ways with his beloved Shaunie O’Neal, citing irreconcilable differences.
“I felt like I had given up so much of myself to be with him and to support his career and his dreams, but I didn’t get the same in return. I felt like I was living in his shadow and that I had no voice or value in the relationship,” said Shaunie, the mother of four. Since then, Shaquille O’Neal’s personal life has remained under the spotlight.
And Shaq’s personal life continues to be a long-awaited controversial topic for spectators. In a recent episode of JJ Redick’s podcast, Shaq shared insights about his family. The glimpse of the interview was then uploaded to the official YouTube channel with the title, “Shaq on His Place in the GOAT Debate and His Mutual Respect With Kobe.“

Shaq’s family dynamics
Continuing with the interview, Shaq said, “Hello Mr. Dwayne, you’re in charge, you’re Batman, I’m Robin, I used to be Batman, so anything you want to know, I can teach you in pain, but we don’t really have any problems, it’s you, so that’s how I got in there, because again, I’m the guy, when I go to an organization, I don’t give a f**k who they are, I’m in charge.”
Meanwhile, he added, “When I first got to Miami, wives could travel on a plane, m****r f***er, they could not, other than that, I’m the shit done with, no wives, no kids on a plane, ever, unless you make it to the finals and then they come and you gave us three, four, five, or six, all the wives hate me, but that’s okay, you’re not traveling.”
