Shaquille O’Neal Dines With LSU’s Kim Mulkey – Does 6’4 Daughter Me’Arah Have Her Heart Set on Carrying Dad’s Legacy?

Well, Kim Mulkey just led the Women’s LSU basketball team to its first national title ever. She is the only ever in basketball to have won a national championship as a player, assistant coach and head coach. From her induction into the NCAA Women’s Hall of Fame in 2000 for her accomplishments as a college player to her enshrinement into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 2020, Kim Mulkey is one of the most admired women in basketball.

Shaquille O’Neal posted a recent Instagram picture, where he is seen enjoying a celebratory dinner with the endearing Louisiana State University coach. Many NBA fans cannot help but wonder if there are any talks regarding the Laker legend’s daughter as a potential player for LSU in the future.

Does the 6’4 daughter Me’Arah have her heart set on carrying dad’s legacy on?

Standing at an impressive 6 feet 14 inches, Me’Arah is just 17 years old! As a freshman in highschool, Me’Arah started in all 24 games and averaged 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.5 blocks per game. She helped her team reach the state quarterfinals with a 19–5 record and is quickly carving her own path as a four-star, Top 50 prospect in her class.

Ever since Kim Mulkey took over the LSU office in 2021, they have been on a recruiting rampage. With some of the best players in their team who helped LSU win the national championship in 2023, Coach Mulkey does not intend to slow down on the winning streak. Earlier this year, Mulkey and her staff hosted 2024 target Me’Arah O’Neal for a visit down south!

The Lakers legend is a certified family man. As a father of six, he likes to spend quality time with his children and be proactively involved in their lives as a parent.

Shaquille O’Neal accompanied his daughter on her visit to LSU and is surely not wrong to want the legendary Kim Mulkey to mentor his daughter in her basketball journey.

What’s next for the O’Neal family’s basketball legacy?

Many may not know that Shaquille O’Neal’s 3rd eldest child was also a college player for LSU. He played for LSU from 2020 to 2022, but he suffered a major foot injury which restricted him to just 10 college games.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft, Shareef joined the L.A. Lakers in for the NBA Summer League of 2022. In September 2022, he signed with the NBA G League Ignite as a veteran player since he was draft eligible in the 2022 NBA draft. However, considering his heart condition it is unclear as to whether Shareef O’Neal will actually want to continue playing basketball at the highest level.

Apart from Shareef, the only other child who seems to have potential to be a professional basketball player is definitely Me’Arah O’Neal. NBA fans are excited to see Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter shine under the guidance of the legendary LSU coach.
