Shaquille O’Neal has no urgency to be a grandfather. But he did reveal on The Big Podcast which of his six kids will get him there first. Note, this overprotective dad has a standing policy to scare off his daughters’ partners. But he has other expectations from his sons. When asked which of his kids would be a parent first, Shaq didn’t skip a beat. “Shaqir… ’cause they say he’s my light-skinned twin.”

Among his six kids, Myles O’Neal is the most public about his relationship with his girlfriend, Angelica Streetman. But Shaq is not expecting grandkids from them anytime soon. “Myles is a player, Shareef is a player. But Shaqir is probably going to be the first.”

When Shaq was on Bobbi Althoff’s podcast last year, he said he’s ensuring his eldest daughter, Taahirah O’Neal, doesn’t have any kids by scaring away any guys. Taahirah, however, proclaimed that her dating life was going just fine without her dad’s interference.

If the 7-foot intervention doesn’t work and his kids do become parents though, Big Diesel wants to be the first one to know.

The 4x NBA champion is so confident that Shaqir would be the first among his siblings to have kids, he has already placed a demand on the 20-year-old. “I always tell him [Shaqir] I said, ‘Hey man, when [expletive] go down, don’t call your mama first. You better call me first, I can tell you what to do.’”

Shaqir’s mother, Shaunie Henderson might have something to say about that.

That demand nonetheless got a good laugh out of T.I. and Jamal Crawford, today’s guests on the podcast. His kids might not be laughing though. Taahirah O’Neal admitted that she and her siblings don’t agree with their father’s stringent monitoring of their love lives. “My dad…hilarious because he has been in the press talking about we can’t date until we are 35…me and my sister, we were like, incorrect,” the 27-year-old quipped.

Unlike his eldest siblings, TSU student Shaqir has kept his dating life under wraps. So Shaq’s prediction might not be coming true any time soon. However, Taahirah confirmed that they’re transparent about their relationships with their dad and he has absolute trust in them. We’ll have to wait and see cool granddad Diesel in the future.
