Turns out, if you want to date one of Shaq’s daughters, you’ll need more than just charm—you’ll need a master’s degree a solid life plan, and maybe a survival kit.

When it comes to his girls, Shaq’s playing no games. From ‘academic requirements’ to ‘intimidating interrogations’ straight out of a buddy cop movie, this is one father who’s making sure his daughters’ suitors are worthy. The latest episode of The Big Podcast had comedian Bert Kreischer as a guest. Both O’Neal and Kreischer spoke warmly about their kids. But O’Neal’s co-host, Adam Lefkoe, had questions for both the girl dads. He asked the father of six about whether his daughters had ever had their boyfriends stay over.

Shaq responded with a hilarious rule that his sons are allowed to have their girlfriends stay over, but his daughters’ boyfriends are not. That was when he shared an even more humorous instance. It turns out O’Neal’s daughter did bring her partner over once, and O’Neal wasn’t impressed at all. 

“Me and Kenny waiting towards the end of the night so he tries to go upstairs we’re like no no get your a– in the back we put them in the back dungeon (gym).” he said. And the entire night, the two played AC games by slightly tormenting the guy leaving him shivering. “We drop it to 50 like man that’s too cold bring it up to 70. We watch him all night; we gave him one cover. He didn’t get a good night’s sleep, ” he shared.

Clearly, if someone wants to date Shaq’s daughter, he must get The Big Aristotle’s approval first. What happened next? The Lakers legend proudly declared that he was right to do so. He claimed that his daughter’s relationship with the guy whom Shaq almost froze, didn’t last long.

He was glad that he made the right decision, and he seemingly resorts to odd measures to ensure his little girls’ happiness and safety. But the ‘dungeon’ incident was just the tip of the iceberg. Shaq’s approach isn’t just about playful torment; it’s a carefully constructed system designed to ensure his daughter’s happiness and safety. And while his methods might raise a few eyebrows, they reveal a father’s dedication to his girls, even if it means scaring off a few potential suitors along the way.

Shaquille O’Neal revealed his Test No. 2 for his daughter’s boyfriend 

O’Neal shared that his daughters don’t prefer to tell him about their boyfriends. Well, the girls can’t be blamed. The Big Aristotle also claimed that he intimidates their partners with a little inspiration from Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys II.

And Taahirah, Amirah, and the youngest in the family, Me’arah, have to follow their father’s strict rules. During the podcast, Lefkoe asked Shaq what he would do if a gentleman with a master’s degree approached him for his daughter. “I’ll be impressed and then I’m going to ask him one question, ‘What are you trying to do?’ and based on his answer I’d know if he’s a shyster like I used to be or if he’s real,” the Los Angeles Lakers legend said. 

So, it seems that a guy has to be educated, well-mannered, and has good future plans to be suitable to date his daughter. Whether it’s the dating rules or allowing the girls to stay at home as long as they want, O’Neal has always shown a little more love to his daughters than his sons. “I like my girls a little bit better,” O’Neal told PEOPLE. He wants to ensure that his daughters are happy!
