When Jamal Murray torched the Clippers for a playoff-high 43 points—part of a 131–115 rout that put Denver up 3–2 in the series, no one expected the next viral soundbite would come from Shaquille O’Neal’s son. Yet backstage on the Cheat Codes Podcast, Myles O’Neal upended the headlines by offering to DJ a Clippers event for free, on one condition. In L.A., even a family feud now plays out far beyond the box score.
In his latest interview with the Cheat Codes Podcast, the rapper admitted that he is a Lakers fan. Well, his father is an ex-Laker, so the connection is understandable. Yet he harbors a deep disdain for the Clippers, who are in a high-stakes playoff series against the Nuggets right now. “It’s like a real deep hate. I mean, I’m a Lakers fan, bro. I just hate the Clippers,” he said.
Meanwhile, back in Denver, star Jamal Murray put up an impressive 43 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a win over the Clippers in Game 5. The Nuggets hold a 3-2 lead in the series. Myles was thrilled. During the podcast, the members had an interesting question for him. And it was whether or how much he would charge from the Clippers owner, Steve Ballmer, if he were asked to perform at a Clippers event.

When the hosts asked if he’d up his fee for a Clippers gig, Myles quipped. “I’ll do it for free as long as I can wear a LeBron jersey on stage. Not even LeBron. I’ll wear Bronny jersey, Bronny jersey,” instantly sparking viral memes among Lakers–Clippers fans. The Lakers star was once spotted hanging out with Shareef. It seems he wants to pay tribute to the rookie if he were to perform for his most disliked team. Will the Clippers agree?

How did Shaquille O’Neal react to Myles O’Neal’s declaration?
When Myles O’Neal blasted the Clippers, “Fuck the Clippers… anybody that plays for the Clippers, I hate you”—he didn’t expect his father to jump in mid-rant. On the Complex YouTube series Goat Talk, Shaq first tried to rein in his son’s fiery proclamation by jokingly commanding, “Strike that from the tape,” expressing visible disbelief at Myles’s unfiltered venom.

Not content to leave it there, the four-time NBA champion quipped, “He’s drunk, he’s drunk,” suggesting Myles’s tirade was fueled more by impulse than reason, prompting laughter from his son and co-hosts alike. As a last-ditch attempt at damage control, Shaq deadpanned, “He’s 27 and I can’t spank him ’cause it’s against the law. But we’re sorry, Clippers,” effectively apologizing to the LA Clippers on Myles’ behalf. How did Myles’ family react to this hilariously awkward situation?
Myles’s mother, Shaunie O’Neal, publicly signaled her exasperation on Instagram with a triple-facepalm emoji, “Myles!!!!! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️”. Myles coolly replied, “@iamshaunie idc,” doubling down on his stance despite parental chiding. This isn’t the first time Shaq has publicly reined in bold remarks. In 2024, he lambasted Rudy Gobert as the “worst player in the NBA” on Inside the NBA, only to later clarify his hyperbole was all in good fun.
