Shaquille O’Neal has once again proved that he is one of, if not the best, analysts out there. Not just once, but on multiple occasions, he discussed his perspective on the San Antonio Spurs sensation, Victor Wembanyama. While he never directly compared the 20-year-old to Phoenix Suns center Bol Bol, the larger-than-life personality has always thought that there isn’t much difference between the two. He even explained the reason behind his opinion to the public. And as if fate, fans got to see it for themselves in Wembanyama’s latest matchup against Bol Bol.

The Phoenix Suns surged ahead with their intense play, ultimately dominating the game and securing a 131-106 win over the Spurs. As fans watched Bol Bol have a good game with 13 points playing just 19 minutes in the game, they were reminded of Shaq’s bold comment that caused quite a stir among fans.

On Saturday night, Wemby’s impact was limited as he scored only 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The 20-year-old had 5 turnovers as well in his 20 minutes on the court. On the other hand, Bol matched Wemby’s point tally of 13 points in 19 minutes as the game was virtually over entering the 4th quarter.

The French man is averaging 20 points per game this season. He has lived up to his hype and the big names in the league, including Reggie Miller, are all gushing over the rookie. In an episode of TNT’s Inside the NBA a few months ago, Shaq didn’t agree with Miller when he said he hadn’t seen an athlete like Wembanyama. Furthermore, he added how Bol Bol has a similar game as the Spurs star.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated last week, he added that he isn’t going to change his opinion on the two. “Bol Bol is the first. I never compared the two. I just said you guys act like you’ve never seen it before, but you have. You’ve seen Bol Bol do it,” O’Neal said in the interview.

Then again, in his The Big Shaq Podcast last year, he reiterated his comments saying the only difference between the two is Bol Bol is “lazy.” While this comment could be up for another debate, Shaq was right about Bol Bol and Victor. And fans made sure to point that out.

Fans side with the Big Aristotle

One of the netizens pointed out how the 4x NBA champion was right about his opinion and wrote, People killed @SHAQ on this app for saying Bol Bol was the first Wemby, months later the first matchup… #hedidntlie

Another fan didn’t mention the Los Angeles Lakers legend but they seemed to agree with him and wrote, “If they just let bol bol jack up shots like wemby he could average 20 too.”

While one of the fans wrote, “Shaq try to tell yall about Bol Bol,” another wrote, “Just watch the suns highlights bol bol outplayed wemby let’s go Shaq was right.” However, some fans had a different opinion.

One fan pointed out how the two barely played much against each other. While Wemby played with the Suns’ main team, Bol was part of the 2nd unit. He wrote, “Shaq will see this game and tell everyone he was right that bol bol is just as good as wemby lmfao.”

Another commented, “It’s funny, when Wemby drops a 38 point bomb against the Suns it’s radio silence but as soon as he sits a 4th quarter in a blowout while Bol Bol plays garbage time minutes it’s “All narrative” & “Shaq was right”
