Did Shaquille O’Neal have any issues with his ex-wife’s marriage? Not really. He, however, initially had one demand, which Shaunie dismissed. She married Pastor Keion Henderson in 2022. Before that, Henderson proposed to Shaunie with a custom diamond ring, and they got engaged on a tropical island. The news was soon announced to the fans and her followers. But O’Neal wanted Henderson to inform him about their engagement before it came out to the public.

He wasn’t happy when I got engaged to Keion. He told me he felt like I should have called and let him know I was engaged before it went public. Why would I do that?” Henderson shared it in her book, Undefeated, Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms. However, eventually, O’Neal made peace with it.

Henderson, in her book, explained that the 4x NBA Champion later also met Pastor Keion. She recalled how the Champ was respectful. “But eventually he came around. He’s met Keion, and he’s respectful,” Shaunie wrote. She further added, “We are doing very well again. We can be parents to our kids, cordial to each other, and live our own lives. I call that a win.”

O’Neal has been super supportive and appreciative of his ex-wife. He didn’t defend himself when Shaunie Henderson publicly confessed that she was not sure whether she loved him during their marriage.

Shannon Sharpe was one of the people who believed that Shaunie was wrong to share this detail in her book. Numerous fans criticized the 49-year-old for her gesture. However, the O’Neal kids and the Los Angeles Lakers legend showed her support and made it known through their social media. O’Neal also wrote a message on his Instagram that read,I understand… I wouldn’t have been in love with me either. Wishing you all the best… All love, Shaq.”

Previously, Big Aristotle admitted his mistakes in his relationship with Shaunie. O’Neal made this confession in his memoir, Shaq Uncut: My Story, which was published in 2011. Later, he reiterated it in his interviews. Shaunie admitted that, even if it was late, she was glad O’Neal made things clear. It’s been almost a decade since Big Aristotle and Shaunie Henderson got divorced.
