It’s always fun learning from Shaquille O’Neal. He has a doctoral degree in education that’s focused on human resources. But imparting wisdom is just something the Big Aristotle does. He had a teaching moment in his intentional cringe-fest with an 817k subscriber-strong YouTuber recently. Even that earned an awkward reaction from the infamous Bobbi Althoff. This is a similar reaction O’Neal once got out of Luka Doncic for his interesting vocabulary.

Shaq let his personality shine the way even Inside the NBA was never privileged to broadcast while sitting across Althoff. He introduced the 26-year-old influencer to a vocabulary bank he personally refers to earning a signature Bobbi Althoff reaction.

Dr. Shaquille O’Neal, Ed.D’s vocabulary lesson

The ‘Big Diesel’ brand of humor showed in spades during his awkward sit-down with Bobbi Althoff on her YouTube channel. At one moment, his linguistic skills showed, leaving Althoff either impressed or questioning her life’s decisions.

It happened when she tried on O’Neal’s sunglasses. He said the accessory made her look “gorgeouser.” Althoff responded, “Thank you for inventing a word to describe me.” O’Neal denied he invented a new word. “That’s in the dictionary,” he meant about “gorgeouser.” FYI, it’s not in the regular dictionaries. Althoff disagreed too.

The Inside the NBA analyst, who can leave Charles Barkley tongue-tied, said the word exists in the “BPD” which is an acronym for “Black People Dictionary.” Althoff, with a fair degree of disbelief, replied that she was unfamiliar with the “BPD” but would look into it. That’s when O’Neal gave another practical example of his exclusive dictionary.

O’Neal was promoting the “BPD” further by introducing Althoff to the word, “Finna.” Like any good teacher, he explained it by using it in a sentence. “‘Im finna go eat after I do this podcast.” He also detailed what he’s going to eat after leaving the interview but that’s where the vocabulary lesson ends.

Shortly after retiring from the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal pursued his Ed.D. in organizational learning and leadership at Miami’s Barry University. The title of his supposed dissertation was ‘How Leaders Utilize Humor or Aggression in Leadership Styles.’ He’s used to showing aggression on the court. But humor is also something he’s packing, something he showed to Luka Doncic.

Shaquille O’Neal’s multi-lingual skills

Take a ‘Big Diesel’ vocabulary lesson with a grain of salt. If you’re a regular viewer of Inside the NBA, you’ve seen Shaq and Chuck drag out each other’s poor spelling skills and penchant for inventing words. But that’s not even the best linguistic moment Shaquille had on the show.

O’Neal attempted to speak Slovenian to Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic once. Around 2 million people speak the Slovenian language and Shaquille O’Neal is not one of them. Doncic barely played along while laughing and was eager to get out of the camera’s view while the ‘Inside Guys’ roasted Shaq’s linguistic faux pas. Never a dull day with Dr. O’Neal.
