While Shaquille O’Neal was making over-the-top predictions for the playoffs on TNT, his family was serving as the Meezy hype squad in New York. Me’Arah O’Neal showed why Shaq called her the next big thing in basketball at only 10 at the Jordan Brand Classic. Me’Arah was Team Air that lost a nail-biting game by 103-109 to Team Flight. However, she made a remarkable impression as one of the top scorers of the game.

Her mom, Shaunie Henderson, showed on her Instagram Stories that Me’Arah was already at 16 points by halftime. She ended the game at 18 points, second to Kennedy Smith with 21 points. She recently participated in the McDonald’s All-American game but her team, the West, lost too. Despite not being able to win, her village is cheering her on.

The Florida Gators’ commit also got some big praise from her future team. The Gators official page accurately pointed out, “Runs in the fam,” as she not only showed she’s as dominant as prime Shaq, but she has a better shooting rate than he ever did from beyond the line. Before the game, she also said in an interview that she has the most range in the family.

Meezy is also the only O’Neal since Shaq in 1989 to become a McDonald’s All-American. Shareef played in the Jordan Brand Classic too but she’s done both. She even cited her brothers, Shareef and Shaqir as her primary inspirations to be a versatile shooter over their dad’s lower post style. That got serious acknowledgement from the blue-ticked Jumpman23 page too with fire emojis.

Another one hyped for Shaq 2.0 is the NBA G-League player, Josh Christopher. She’s known him since her brother, Shareef O’Neal, and Josh were top prospects in high school and college too. He was at the Jordan Brand Classic and congratulated Me’Arah for a great game. She responded to the sentiment on an Instagram post. “my brothaaaa frrr.”

He also responded with, “sis” and a 100% emoji. Christopher also accurately described her dominant first half with, “sister going crazy fr.” She’s certainly got the media attention. But what about some O’Neals?

The O’Neal sibs back Meezy

Big sis Amirah was in the house watching the Baby O’Neal take over the Jordan Classic. Amirah had the attendance proof with pictures of the Jumbotron broadcasting Meezy for Team Air. “That girl,” Amirah wrote. She also captured some of her highlights live.

Shaqir reshared a few posts rightfully praising Meezy and let it do all the talking. Shareef plastered a GOAT sticker on a post about Meezy for the next great O’Neal. The eldest sister, Taahirah, very accurately stated Meezy is, “in her own lane.” Myles also took a pause from deejaying duties to congratulate his sis.

Shaquille O’Neal himself is neck-deep in the first round of the playoffs and couldn’t follow Meezy’s game live. But you know he’s a proud dad that Me’Arah is getting all the due for herself and not as Shaq’s daughter.
