There’s no O’Neal without a hidden talent or two. Shaquille O’Neal busted out his DJ console and took over the EDM space after retiring. Most of his kids have shown they’re also talented outside of basketball. The youngest of the six kids, Me’Arah O’Neal, is the projected next big O’Neal to hit the parquet floor. But she’s got some alternate talents very few know. And it has us imagining a collaboration with Shaq Diesel.

Meezy, a freshman at the University of Florida, was at ESPN’s Gainesville studio to talk all about herself. Miguel Molina asked if she had a secret talent no one knew. Off the top of her head came, “I could dance.” But she adds, “I feel like everyone knows that though, I got rhythm”

That’s true. When the 18-year-old still lived with her mom, Shaunie, in Houston, she got her and her elder sister, Amirah into dance challenges. She’s even got her mom’s friends at the Houston Lighthouse Church into a TikTok/Reel dance trend a few times.

She also said, “I can cook.” It’s not a secret either. She’s done a few lives since moving to Florida while cooking with her friends. The real deet came later. “I can sing. That’s a secret though. Not no more ’cause i said it on camera.” Now that’s a secret talent. We’re yet to see Me’Arah singing.

The most we’ve gotten is when Shaunie shared her daughters singing along to the performers at a concert. But it wouldn’t be surprising when there’s a multi-platinum selling rapper in the family along with a musically gifted brother.

We need the Shaq&Meezy duo

Shaquille O’Neal proved instantly he was more than just the #1 draft pick in 1992 when he dropped his first album, Shaq Diesel in his rookie year. He had multiple rap albums that went platinum. His home in Orlando famously had his own studio frequented by East Coast rappers like Fat Joe. But by the time Meezy was born, music was on the backburner.

By the time he retired in 2011, he was turning back to deejaying. He did it in high school and college to earn a few extra bucks. Now he headlines Lost Lands and Tomorrowland, and has his own festival Bass All-Stars in the works. He did something huge recently, which was collaborating with his son, Myles to form the O’Neal Boyz, the first father-son duo in EDM.

He still raps with collaborations with GAWNE and Rick Ross. There’s always an opening to become Shaq’s duet partner. Since he’s sharing the bass genre with Myles now, would it be too much to ask for Shaq and Meezy to have another musical collab?
