Over the years, the NCAA has produced a lot of stars who sadly couldn’t make it to the league. Well, Shareef O’Neal’s father is one of them. Obviously, we are not speaking about the Los Angeles Lakers great Shaquille O’Neal here. Rather, it is his 42-year-old stepfather, Keion Henderson, whose history was thrown to light by Shareef. Every athlete who has played division basketball has some highlights in their career. Well, Henderson did too, which he recalled on his social media, and 24-year-old Shareef was left stunned. A former Milwaukee Bucks star commented on his post with an open challenge, which has got the fans’ attention.

It is a dream for any college star to headline the local paper. And Henderson achieved it by taking his team to a thrilling victory. The 42-year-old represented the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons for three straight years from 2002 to 2004. He shared a newspaper article on his Instagram, which featured an image of his fierce dunk on a Morehead State Eagles guard. He also led his team to a 78-75 win, despite a 12-point deficit in the first half. Shades of Shaq?

After seeing his stepfather’s picture, Shareef shared it to his Instagram story and added, “You dunked him like that?!” Well, it’s only fair because Henderson wore number 23, so dunking on someone is automatic. Henderson’s senior year with Purdue was one of his best. He averaged 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists and Henderson was the team’s fourth-highest scorer that year.

Shaq and his then-wife Shaunie separated over a decade ago, after which Shaunie remarried in 2022. The Basketball Wives star and executive producer said “yes” to a proposal from her boyfriend, Pastor Keion Henderson, on Nov. 11, 2022, after nearly two years of dating. Henderson has been very supportive of her children and was even seen cheering for Shareef O’Neal during his G-League Ignite game against the Austin Spurs last year. Shareef has posted an Instagram story holding his Godson, a young member of the Henderson family. Just like Henderson supported Shareef, it was his turn to support his stepdad.

This Instagram post caught the attention of former Milwaukee Bucks star, Brandon Jennings, who put out a challenge to Shaunie’s husband.

The 34-year-old commented on Keion Henderson’s post and said, “I know one thing I’m walking in IPFW 2003-2004…45pts, 7assist, 7rebs, 3stls with the WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!… Can you guard me?” Looks like they were familiar with each other’s game.

Henderson had a reply too. He was unsure if he could get a win, but he was confident it would be a great matchup. The pastor replied, “BJ you #tuffcrowd woulda been a battle though!” That’s a wholesome exchange between the two. Hopefully, we get to see a matchup soon.
