It always starts with the little things. Charles Barkley ate Shaquille O’Neal’s snack, Shaq retaliated, and Chuck calmly got back to business. It appears he’s finally getting the hang of Instagram, too. Before halftime of Game 2 between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers, Chuck made a little chuckle-worthy Reel in collaboration with Shaq. And he roasted him while he was at it.

After getting an expletive-laden voicemail from Shaq for eating his Cheetos, Chuck made an earnest appeal to his followers to, “Please call and ask me a question so I don’t have to listen to this FOOL @shaq.Barkley even left a phone number in the Reel and said, “I don’t want to listen to this idiot.” Try that number to confirm if it really connects to Sir Charles.

This is no joke. Leaving Chuck a question, even if it’s a comment under this post, can earn a feature on The Steam Room where Chuck and Ernie may answer them. So far, the comments/questions are designed to strike a nerve with Chuck.

For starters, most pointed out that there was no question when Shaq said, “Hey Charles, this is Shaq… Stop eating those Cheetos man!” But the official Cheetos account, which probably knows the O’Neal fam is obsessed with their product, asked Barkley, “Chuck, answer the question. Did you steal his Cheetos?” From the sound of it, Shaq did leave the Cheetos lying around and Chuck shamelessly consumed them.

Chuck didn’t dignify the Cheetos account with a response. He did get triggered into replying by a subject he’s sore about. Someone asked, “How do you feel about San Antonio women Chuck?” Barkley answered, “I said a GOOD question” with an expressive eye-roll emoji. The running theme of the question is all the best of Chuck-lore. It sounds more designed for Shaq than Chuck.

Charles Barkley might have a hard time with these questions

Remember that time in 2017 when Charles Barkley discovered churros, called them a long donut, and apologized to the women of San Antonio all in one show? That still haunts him. These are the running jokes in the questions for Chuck under his post.

They also bring up the origins of the Steam Room podcast. You’d remember Barkley’s infamous bracelet story with a still unidentified mystery man. Everyone’s still on him about that. But that was addressed on the podcast this year, and Chuck and Ernie decided to not give Shaq and Kenny credit for originating the name.

Some took it seriously enough to share playoff-related questions. Those might really get Barkley’s attention, though the TNT crew will throw in some funny ones for laughs. Look forward to this week’s edition of The Steam Room to see which questions made the cut.
