The influence of Allen Iverson on the younger generation has been proven yet again. For a Utah Jazz point guard, his respect for The Answer out-shadows other legends and athletes. This made him keep his tribute to Iverson even when he removed the other famous influential figures from himself. Back in 2018, over the course of six months, he went from having no tattoos to having two sleeves full of tattoos. The shooting guard has had one of the biggest transformations ever in such a short period of time.

Recently, he revealed the influence behind his tattoos and the reason why he keeps Iverson’s tattoo on his body despite removing some other figures.

Allen Iverson triumphs over the others in player’s tattoos

In a recent interview with GQ, Jordan Clarkson explained the tattoos that he has gotten over the years. Clarkson revealed that he spends a lot of time in the offseason getting tattooed. Apart from Allen Iverson, the 31-year-old had a few other sporting icons inked on himself. 

He had Bruce Lee and Mohammad Ali tattooed on either of his shoulders. But as he was getting more tattoos on his back, Clarkson felt like the shoulder tattoos were not matching the flow of the rest of his tattoos. This made him cover up both Bruce Lee and Mohammad Ali with roses.

Clarkson is also a big fan of Randy Moss, and thus those are the two that he still has on his body. He always respected the game that these two legends played, and the memories he received from it are why he got them tattooed on his body. Furthermore, he respects what they have done for the culture and how creative the two of them were.

Jordan Clarkson’s Iverson tattoo

The Philadelphia 76ers went up against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2001 finals. The Lakers at the time had Shaquille O’Neal in his prime and a young Kobe Bryant, who was still ascending as a player. Iverson was the only threat for the Lakers in the 76ers.

AI, over the course of five games, averaged 35.6 PPG. Even though he did not win, he gave the world one of the most iconic moments in NBA finals history. Back in game 1 of the 2001 NBA finals, Tyronn Lue was guarding Iverson at the corner.

Iverson pulled up for a jumper, and Lue contested it but fell down while Iverson made the shot. Following the make, Iverson stepped over Lue and looked at him while heading back down the court. To this day, it still remains one of the most iconic moments in finals history. This moment inspired Clarkson so much that he even got a tattoo of it.
