TikTok had taken the world by storm when it was first introduced to the people. It’s back in the spotlight, but this time for all the wrong reasons, as it is about to face a ban. Even NBA legend Charles Barkley, who is pretty much new to the entire social media scenario, is well aware of it. And before it’s too late, Barkley shared some advice with the young fans.

In the latest segment of NBA on TNT, Barkley advises, “Hey, get your TikTok in before it’s illegal. Chuck with some social media advice,” Ernie Johnson repeated, likely with a slight shock. It’s been just a year since Barkley got into social media. While his Instagram gained many followers, Chuck solely learned about posting, doing live streams, DMs, and more.

It was quite surprising when Barkley, who has always been against all social media platforms, got into one. “Instagram is for fools,” Barkley had once labeled. Speaking to Gayle King, he shared, “I don’t want to bring fools into my life. You know, the negativity. Are there positives to it? I hear there are positives to it, But I don’t want to bring anything negative into my life.”

Needless to say, the TNT crew was the first to tease their colleague about it. However, Barkley quickly clarified that he had joined Instagram only for business purposes. “I’m trying out social media. It’s for business purposes… I’ve only had it for like a week,” he said.

That being said, Chuck also enjoys learning the little positive things about social media as well. He is keeping up with the trends and the latest updates on social media. He is well aware of how the young generation loves TikTok.

There were rumors that billionaire Elon Musk might buy the U.S. operations side of the app, allowing it to exist in the nation. While it is said that ByteDance might demand $40-$50 billion for the deal, the company recently revealed that the rumors are “fiction.” The company has yet to confirm, leaving avid users in dismay.

Well, new to social, one time his colleague almost fooled Barkley about a famous platform – OnlyFans.

That’s right, Shaq had Chuck almost convinced to start an OnlyFans account. Only Barkley knew the wrong definition of that application. Shaq had told him to tag OnlyFans in all his posts, while the Philadelphia 76ers legend thought it was only for his friends. “And every time you send out a picture, you’ve got to hashtag #OnlyFans,” Shaq which received laughter from the panel.

His colleague, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, had already warned him on the show. Much later, he found out about OnlyFans, and during a segment of Inside the NBA, he thanked Smith for saving him from the disaster.

“I gotta say thanks to Kenny, because I was going to do a FansOnly, an OnlyFans. And Shaq’s like ‘Chuck, you’ve got to do that.’ Cause I thought it was only for fans of mine. And Kenny’s like ‘Never listen to Shaq” Barkley said. We can only imagine the uproar on social media had Chuck listened to O’Neal. It was only fitting that Barkley expressed his gratitude to Smith.
