Opinions are changing as the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson showdown approaches closer. While people are mostly excited about the fight, some have their own reservations. For some, it is about the legacy their idol, Iron Mike has built over the years. And they don’t want this legacy to be harmed at any cost because of this mis-matched fight. Ex-NBA star Stephen Jackson is one such person.
Appearing on an episode of ‘All The Smoke’ podcast, Jackson expressed his concerns around the fight on July 20th. Jackson claimed that he has been a big Mike Tyson fan and really admired him. “His ups and downs of life and how he made love to the bad times, is still here doing big things. I just don’t want him to go out there and risk his legacy dealing with a guy like Jake Paul,” said the 2003 NBA champion.
Stephen Jackson has expressed his concern for Jake Paul as well, even if he wins the fight. “If he knocked Mike Tyson out, I’m just telling you, somebody’s going to wait outside and hurt him for real,” he stated. And he explained the reason behind people thinking so is that Paul is making a mockery of out of legends, “So I ain’t with that”.

The ex-NBA star, however, appreciated Jake Paul for whatever he has been doing. But he reminded that there are 5-10 professional boxers Paul’s own age calling him. He also admitted that he can’t hate Jake for making money. But as a boxing fan, Jackson does not want even a remote possibility of Paul embarrassing Tyson.
And it’s not as if Stephen Jackson believes Paul will be able to do so. But since it is boxing, he believes anything can happen. However, Tyson’s recent training video reassures his faith in the legend.
What are the odds in Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson?
Tyson’s recent video has him to be in great form. And the video has left both fans and experts concerned for Jake Paul. Mike posted the video on his official X account. “It’s day 1…the fun has just begun,” read the caption to the video post.

It is worth mentioning that Mike already outshines Paul when it comes to stats. Tyson has fought 58 times professionally, winning 50 fights, 6 losses and 2 fights declared no contest. The interesting part is that of 50 wins, 44 came through knock-out.
