In the same video, he thew a gauntlet at Stephen A Smith as he said, “I thought he (Stephen) didn’t care because normally if you go to YouTube you have your own stuff. But Stephen A. Smith still wants to be liked by the woke mob,” He added, “Man, they checked Stephen A. Smith so quick, everybody’s checking Stephen A. Smith… He’s copying, please like them all.” But the controversy didn’t end there.

Stephen A Smith’s apology

On April 22nd, Stephen issued a formal apology video on his official YouTube channel, taking accountability for his statement. Though he asserted that the Black community misunderstood his words. He said,A lot of folks in Black America seem pretty pissed at me right now… quite a few folks were offended as my words were interpreted as associating support for Trump by the Black community with all the legal issues he’s facing.

He added, “For that, I sincerely apologize. I’m stating right here for the record that I was taken out of context.” While apologizing for the incident, he insisted that he was just stating facts. Moving on, he mentioned that all the facts were gathered from reputable news resources including NBC, The New York Times and Axios. Though he justified what he said, he remained apologetic for all that happened. Now the question is: What was this video for? Is it an apology or justification for all that happened?
