We thought the Stephen Curry et al. vs. Killer Mike saga was over. However, we are now at a stage where everyone weighs in. This one, though, could start another shouting session in Gil’s Arena. To recap, Ayesha Curry’s appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast created a storm that has hardly calmed in two months. What was the storm about? Marriage troubles, apparently. The only time Steph had weighed in was to clap back at Killer Mike for making comments about his wife. That interview, in no way, impacted the power couple’s marriage. Why would it?

However, Killer Mike took a public 180 on his stance over the course of a few hours. It’s still a divisive issue, but the rapper has at least one NBA guy in his corner… Rashad McCants is usually unpredictable when it comes to picking a side. But he’s not the biggest Stephen Curry fan in Gil’s Arena. He had not even weighed in on Ayesha’s comments, nor did he discuss Killer Mike’s and Steph’s exchange on Instagram. Finally, though, here was his take.
“Nahhh @KillerMike he owe you an apology now!!! I’m not rolling. This is evidence…. She not high. lol,” McCants tweeted.

The NBA star-turned-critic was responding to Ayesha Curry’s comments about planning her life when she was younger. “I didn’t want kids. I didn’t wanna get married. I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it. And I had my eyes set on my goals, and I was never the little girl that, like, dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that,” she said on the Call Her Daddy pod.

Steph and Ayesha have four kids, including Caius, who turned one this year.
While Killer Mike’s apology is about interfering in a matter that had nothing to do with him, Rashad McCants believes Stephen Curry (specifically saying ‘he’ in his tweet) needs to apologize because the rapper supposedly wasn’t wrong about Ayesha… Although the whole beef between the hoopster and Killer Mike indicates that Curry didn’t care about Ayesha’s explosive revelations. At least not in public.

For the uninitiated, this entire fiasco began after Ayesha’s interview. A content creator, Bookie Woodz, turned it into a viral skit that wasn’t very flattering to Stephen Curry’s wife. Several names with blue ticks commented under his post, including Killer Mike.
“😂😂😂 My N—- Said She Wanna Go Be Glo!!! Man Steph doesn’t deserve the embarrassment frfr. God bless him,” the rapper commented.
The 4x NBA Champ saw it. Curry didn’t care about the video, but he took offense to Mike’s comment. “@killermike naaaaa not you Mike. i’m cool stating silent and letting these other clowns have they’re moment! and you’re the worst of them @baowoodz234. But you’re better than that @killermike. Stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like he is. We r good over here.✌️”
Killer Mike appeared on Club Shay Shay this week and issued a public apology to the Currys.
“Mrs. Ayesha Curry and her husband Steph, I apologize for my statement being misconstrued. I was just stoned up trying to make a joke out of what’s on that. It wasn’t my damn business like my wife said. So I’m sorry y’all,” the rapper said.
“Steph did something that all us brothers with women should do, and that’s stand up and defend. No matter if somebody step on the foot, no matter if they did it or not, man, check and say, ‘Hey, man, you didn’t say excuse me.’ So, let me say again, Ayesha, Steph, excuse me. I apologize deeply,” Mike continued.
Coming back, though, to the primary focus of this story, the odds of Stephen Curry taking Rashad McCants’ suggestion in public (unless they hash it out in private, which is cool) are very, very slim. But his tweet could create a loud difference of opinion on Gil’s Arena.
Rashad McCants’ opinion is not shared by his friend or Stephen Curry
Both Killer Mike and Stephen Curry deleted their comments, but not before The Shade Room got screengrabs. Brandon Jennings was among those who responded. “Just say women don’t take you serious. Leave that man marriage alone!!! You know how I get down talking about people I love 🙏”
Jennings and Curry go way back as Under Armor athletes. Now, his basketball opinions in favor of the Splash Bro have clashed with McCants’ more than once. He was probably smug after Killer Mike’s apology. Not sure how he’d feel about his Gil’s Arena co-panelist’s take.

It’s worth noting that Stephen Curry rarely comments on his personal life, including his marriage. It is usually Ayesha who loves to talk about her journey, but she ends up being a target of the double standards women face in modern times. What I mean is — when they speak about their struggles, they’re victimizing themselves, and when they talk about something they’ve achieved, they’re showing off. It is quite the double-edged sword there.
Hence, considering all aspects, the Currys are unlikely to respond to Killer Mike, let alone apologize directly.
