Do you remember Starbury? Be it basketball or fashion, Stephon Marbury has always been about revolution wherever he went. In business, he proved that affordability and style can coexist. When Stephon Marbury launched his $15 Starbury sneaker in 2006, he upended the sneaker world, selling 200,000 pairs in its first month and ranking as BusinessWeek’s top product of 2006. After 13 seasons in China, where Beijing even erected a statue in his honor, Marbury returned stateside. Though Starbury never toppled industry giants, Marbury pivoted to smart eyewear, boasting the world’s first color-changing lenses. As Chief Brand Officer, Marbury’s Chamelo Lens tech is about to upend automotive eyewear, teaming with Porsche (brand value: $41.1 B as per Brand Finance).
