Stephen Curry is playing his 15th season in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors point guard seems to have figured out his life after the NBA. Recently, on CBS Mornings, he was promoting his children’s book, I Am Extraordinary. During the show, he was asked if he had any inclination toward politics post his playing career. Curry replied, “I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can, so if that’s the way to do it.”

Curry’s remarks have caught many people by surprise. Other players and ex-players have also chimed in with their thoughts. Recently on the Big Shot Bob Podcast, Robert Horry also gave his opinion, not only about Stephen Curry but also about who should be his running mate. Horry named the current Golden State Warriors and US national team’s men’s basketball coach. He said, “Think about if he gets Steve Kerr as his running mate.“

He continues how Kerr has his political views plus also a military background. The 53-year-old said, “You know Steve Kerr very political and has a military background with his family and so that would be his hey he can he might win that s**t.”

Kerr has been part of the Warriors since 2014. Stephen Curry who has been part of the team since 2009 started winning his 4 championships all under Kerr. The 4-time champion said during the CBS Mornings show that the presidency is not the only thing.

Stephen Curry details his plan in politics after the NBA

Curry clarified that politics does not directly equate directly to POTUS. “I’m not saying the presidency,” he said. “But if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics that we can do.”

After winning the 2022 NBA season both Stephen Curry and Coach Steve Kerr alongside the entire Warriors team were invited to the White House.

It’s never an easy transition from one job to another. How long Stephen Curry will play in the NBA is also unknown. And if he makes the switch to politics, how he will be able to express himself remains to be seen.
