Days before the UCLA Bruins’ first home meet of 2025, gymnast Jordan Chiles had a request. She urged the fans to be present at Pauley Pavilion on January 25. She ended the note with a promise of an “amazing show.” While the UCLA Bruins fans kept their word with their presence, the athlete also fulfilled her end with a classic display and glorious win. The fans present at Pauley included Dwyane Wade, his wife Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, and more.

The Bring It On actress just dropped a selfie with Chiles and her celebrity fans P. Henson and Sanaa Lathan. “Stars are in the building,” the post is captioned. For this inspiring display, Union also brought her 6-year-old daughter Kaavia. She shared a snap of her posing alongside her daughter and captioned it, “A happy Bruin.” She had to be present for her alma mater.

Both mother and daughter are big fans of the gymnast. They were also present in the French capital for the 2024 Olympics to support and cheer for Team USA including  Jordan and Simone Biles. Both Jordan and Simone recalled being starstruck by Union’s presence in the audience.

This was even more special with Union’s gesture. To show her support, the actress also wore her UCLA jacket. After a stint at the University of Nebraska, Union transferred to UCLA, where she completed her honors degree in Sociology. Dwyane Wade, who was also present, posted several snaps and snippets from the event. Union also reshared Sanaa’s IG story showing Jordan’s electrifying performance.

Jordan Chiles stunned fans with her thrilling performance 

After winning team gold for Team USA at the Paris Olympics, Chiles returned to collegiate gymnastics. Upon her return at the American Gold Classic, she won the title in the vault event with a 9.900. She was also flawless at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad.

In the competition against Maryland, Chiles earned her first perfect score (10) of the season on uneven bars. She also achieved a high 9.950 on the floor and a 9.775 on the balance beam.

Getting back to Pauley Pavilion, she was the top scorer on the vault, sharing the spot with Chae Campbell. She delivered an incredible performance with a 9.925 on the vault. With this, UCLA (197.200) easily beat Illinois (194.750). Campbell was the show-stealer. She competed in all four events and won with a total score of 39.400, including her best vault score of the season, 9.925. The Bruins will face Michigan State next.
