Gabrielle Union has her fair share of famous admirers. Dwyane Wade doesn’t need to feel threatened by at least one of them. Frances Tiafoe confessed he’s had a crush on the Bring It On star for a long time. But he made sure he was in the clear with The Flash.

Tiafoe is just a giddy mess when it comes to his favorite actress. And she found it funny too. When the hosts of Connect the Dots asked Frances Tiafoe if he was awestruck by a celebrity encounter, the tennis star recalled a hilarious encounter at his first US Open.

Referring to his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, he said, “I always tell my girl, my crush is Gabrielle Union.”

Frances Tiafoe paused there to give a “shout out to D-Wade.” He didn’t want the NBA legend to misunderstand. He also promised to make it up to him right after the show. The tennis star even admitted that he didn’t follow Union back when she followed him. But at the US Open, it was a different story.

Tiafoe told Broomfield, “To see her [Union], yo, I’ll leave your a** for her any day.” He didn’t realize Union heard him till she turned around that moment and his exact reaction was, “Hell no.”

This anecdote came to Union’s notice who shared it with a bashful, “Stop it,” sticker on her Instagram Stories. She made sure to tag her husband in it too. We’re waiting on D-Wade’s response.

When he was the next big thing in sports at only 18, Tiafoe was ecstatic about his encounter with Dwyane Wade.

The three-time champion was still playing then and the tennis star met him in the Miami Heat locker room. Union’s husband even gave the teen an autograph. We also remember that time in 2022 when Wade was dabbling in tennis.

Tennis pros reacted to his skills, including Tiafoe. His reaction was the opposite of his first meeting with Union. “Hell yeah,” he wrote on Instagram.
