NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal showcased his fine culinary skills against Nick DiGiovanni to create the world’s smallest burger. The NBA titan could make a Big Mac look tiny but that’s not what appalled the former Masterchef competitor. Chef DiGiovanni has obviously picked up Gordon Ramsay’s high standards of presentation. Even though he’s sharing the screen with a literal legend, there are some things that won’t fly for this chef – including playing with food.

DiGiovanni shared the collaborative effort to make a gourmet burger on his YouTube channel. While we may be biased toward the NBA pro-turned-restauranteur’s “Shaq-licious” burger, Chef Diesel seemingly has a few lessons to learn about handling food.

Shaquille O’Neal cooks up a storm with Nick DiGiovanni
Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many talents. Basketball, music, and witty commentary are only the tip of the iceberg. This time, the 4x NBA champion showed he’s also Chef Diesel alongside Nick DiGiovanni.

The duo were making their own versions of the world’s smallest burger in a cook-off. DiGiovanni dished a few tips for making a delicious burger at home on his channel. But Shaq’s burger was a little more special.

While Nick went the classic route, Shaq’s burger was minimal veggies and loaded with meat in a mini serving. As enticing as it looked, O’Neal ditched the traditional plate and served the mini-burger on his shiny head. Honestly, it’s also a talent to balance an intact burger on your head without toppling it. Shaq’s burger sat on his head for a good few seconds without damage.

As soon as he saw that, DiGiovanni clutched his figurative pearls and gasped, “That’s disgusting!” We kind of agree. But Shaq was undeterred. When DiGiovanni said someone has to eat the burger that was just on the 7 feet tall giant’s head, Shaq declared the only one eating his fantastic burger is him.

Nick tried to double down that the burger was for the judge who decides the winner of the cook-off. “I am the judge,” O’Neal stated. The 27-year-old is the youngest cook to make it to the Masterchef finals. Having been mentored by Gordon Ramsay himself, he clearly has high standards.
But there’s no Gordon Ramsay here. Obviously, Shaquille O’Neal is the judge, jury, and cook we all need. And if you want to get a “Shaq-licious” meal, there’s one place to go.

Big Diesel expands his restaurant business
Among his many successful business ventures, Shaquille O’Neal also operates a chain of restaurants. His restaurant, Big Chicken, launched in 2018 and has since brought in millions for the Inside the NBA panelist. Recently, Big Chicken opened its newest franchise in Rosemont, Illinois. This new location is said to cost $1.4 million.
The restaurant’s menu is inspired by O’Neal’s favorite childhood meals like chicken tenders and crusted mac-n-cheese modernized for a new dining experience. Rest assured that the food will be served on a plate and not Shaq’s head.
