The two legends are also among the most-loved athletes the sport has ever seen. Despite their fierce rivalry in the 80s, today they are close friends. The LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics boast a legacy that is unmatched in the league. The credit for the same goes to the teams that these two were a part of in the 80s. The 16-year-old also cited Bird as his source of inspiration for what he was able to achieve in his time. Flagg said, “We would always either have the ‘85 or ‘86 Celtics championship games on or the Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird movies”. A Celtics fan in particular, Flagg added “Especially from that Celtics team that played against the Rockets, it was more about the teamwork and the ball movement.”
