A witch’s brew must’ve made it into the TNT water on Halloween. When Charles Barkley gave his hot take on the James Harden-centric 76ers-Clippers trade, he had Shaquille O’Neal on his side. These two Inside the NBA co-hosts rarely see eye-to-eye. Hence, their agreeing on the biggest gossip of the NBA circles is a major deal.

As per Barkley, the 76ers won the better end of the deal. That’s when Shaq chimed in that, “When you’re on the team such as Philadelphia, I agree with Chuck.

Chuck and Shaq say, “They have a better chance” about the Sixers. Because they have very few strong contenders to beat to get to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Clippers have more strong contenders than they can beat.

Ahead of the Halloween night games, it was confirmed that the 76ers and Clippers have agreed to a trade. Together with James Harden, they’re sending PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev. The 76ers received more, four players including Marcus Morris, and draft picks.

It’s been a five-month ordeal for Harden clashing with Sixers executive ranks, particularly president Daryl Morey. He didn’t get to play in the opening games before the trade was finalized.

He had expressed his desire to go to the Clippers when he took his player option in June. Now he has the chance to contend for the championship alongside powerhouses like Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard. According to TNT’s resident cat-and-mouse duo though, this lineup could be trouble.

Shaq says Clippers have a distraction

If Sir Charles is to be believed, the Clippers squad is imbalanced. It would be difficult for them to figure out who will lead now that Harden is in the mix too. Shaq doubled down on that point with his own take.

You don’t want any distractions,” O’Neal had said. “With the James Harden thing, I have a feeling it’s just a distraction.” Shaq claimed the only way it would work if they focus on developing the team. In the early hours of the trade news and after the Clippers have won two of their first three regular season games so far, Shaq and Chuck are displaying healthy skepticism for this team.

I was 7 when I saw 'Space Jam' but didn't know till the third rewatch the lead actor is actually a living basketball legend. It was while studying journalism that my friend would go on about the Warriors from Golden State. Keen on athletes' personas outside their arenas, it was Stephen Curry's confidence and philanthropy that drew me to follow the news on NBA pros and explore sports media.
