In a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast, Gilbert Arenas was the special guest. Arenas talked about playing for the University of Arizona back in the day. His home was in California. But one time in the summer, when his college season was over, he decided to just stay in Arizona and not go back home. This led to some interesting developments.

Gilbert Arenas got his revenge

During their conversation, Arenas revealed he stayed with a couple of friends who had little money. He was not focused on the people that were around the neighborhood, even though they were living in a shady part of the town. Arenas always minded his own business, having no issues with anyone.

But he failed to realize that people noticed Arenas had money. They especially noticed the college gear that he used to wear. But one day, when he was on his way back to the house, he noticed people in the street wearing the same Arizona college clothing.

Arenas said, “Go in the house they had ransacked, they done stole everything. So I go back outside, and they just posted up. Oh, that’s what we doing? Oh, they think I’m not crazy.

He could do nothing at the time, but he decided to get back at them when he could. He asked when the lease was up on their house, and on the last day, he lit his plan into action. Arenas said, “So I’m just buying gasoline. Gasoline it up. Last day. Whole park. Phoom! Drug dealer set gone.

He revealed he did not find any other option at the time. So he did the thing that he felt was best. Arenas knew he could not go there and fight the people who stole from him and his friends, so he decided to settle it by hurting no one, while getting his revenge at the same time.

But in the NBA, it was Arenas who was on the receiving end of revenge.

Arenas once woke up the Black Mamba

During his early years in the league, Arenas was a scoring machine, praised as one of the best scorers in the NBA. He was competitive and dedicated to winning. This led to him once dropping 60 points against the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant.

Kobe respected how Arenas played, and this made him want to prove who was really the best. The next time they faced each other, Kobe outscored Arenas and won the game. Arenas said in an interview that both he and Kobe respected each other because they were competitive and never backed down from anyone.
