Fans around the world love NBA legend Charles Barkley for his honest yet funny comments on TV. His hilarious antics on Inside the NBA on TNT with his co-hosts are legendary. Barkley was always one of the funniest guys around, even during his basketball career. The comical side of the 1993 NBA MVP would be in full effect in his commercials.

Over the years, there have been many amusing commercials featuring Barkley. But he was not impressed with how one of his recent advertisements was made. However, the Philadelphia 76ers legend was pleasantly surprised.

Charles Barkley was sure the commercial would be a failure

Charles Barkley recently joined the Dan Patrick Show?at the comfort of his home via video call. During the sit-down, Dan Patrick asked a variety of interesting questions about various things surrounding the Hall of Famer. The two discussed a lot about things trending in the world of sports and entertainment. In one instance, the host wanted to know about Chuck’s recent Subway commercial.

Patrick stated that his favorite part of Subway commercials is the actors in the commercial trying to deliver their dialogues in a very short amount of time. Barkley started off by saying that he really enjoyed working with the $9 billion worth brand. He noted that the commercial was a great experience for him and it was fun. However, he was sure at first that the ad would turn out poorly.

Barkley said, “When we first started doing the commercial, I thought it was the stupidest thing in the world. I really did. So I go into this little room, and I’m talking like, ‘Hey Dan Patrick. It’s good to see you blah blah blah. Hey, how the other guys doing?’ They’re like, ‘No you gotta go faster.'”

Despite his best efforts, the crew still wanted him to speak faster. He added, “I was like, ‘Nobody talks like that.’ And they’re yelling at me because I’m on Zoom with 20 people.”

After the commercial was shot, the 11x NBA All-Star even called his agent and stated his disappointment about it. He even thought that it would be the “worst commercial ever”. However, he was shocked to see the final version. Barkley admitted that the ad worked “perfectly” after everything was put together.
