“When Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died, “ Michael Jordan said during his speech for Kobe Bryant. Despite having battled against each other on the court, the two have always had a mentee-mentor relationship. However, as people continue to compare the two NBA Greats, former NBA player Sebastian Telfair demands to stop the comparison.

Everyone associated with the league has nothing but love and respect for the late Lakers legend and his impressive legacy that still touches the hearts of many and inspires them. After emphasizing his respect for the 2x NBA Finals MVP, Telfair shares that the NBA community should stop the comparison between the two.

Not Kobe. Let Kobe rest in peace. I love Kobe but let’s stop that s**t, Kobe is not Michael Jordan,Telfair said during his interview with DJ Vlad. He believes that while Bryant has his unique legacy and admires him for that, he clarified that it’s not the same as Jordan’s.

Following this, Telfair also shared his opinion on LeBron James‘ statement on Stephen Curry and Allen Iverson. He agreed with Bron that both Iverson and Curry are some of the most influential players in the league. Furthermore, he argued that no one has impacted the league quite like ‘King James’ himself. While Telfair talked about these players, there was another NBA star that he touched upon.

What does Sebastian Telfair think about Kevin Durant in the GOAT debate?

Bryant, LeBron, Jordan, and a few other veterans are constants in the GOAT debate. However, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant believes he should also be included. In a conversation with Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic, Durant asked, “Why not? What haven’t I done?”

When Telfair was asked about it by DJ Vlad, he said, “We appreciate KD so much. We got to wait, he got to wait a little bit. He gotta wait.” As per Telfair, Durant still has some time to retire and hence be included in the GOAT debate.

Durant argued whether it might be because he won two titles with the Warriors. While Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James also won his first two titles with Dwyane Wade in the Miami Heat, he secured his GOAT status with his victories with the Cavaliers and Lakers.

Returning to Kobe Bryant, stats and the number of rings aren’t enough to compare his legacy with the Chicago Bulls legend Jordan. This widely popular argument sometimes seems like an attempt to catch the wind. While most continue to seek an answer, former NBA player Telfair just wants to end the comparison.
