Fans consider Michael Jordan to be one of the greatest players in NBA history. During his thirteen-season career with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan led his team to win over 388 regular season games, 6 championships over 8 seasons, and much more. Aside from the wins he secured for his team, fans had an appreciation for Jordan because of the swagger and confidence he played with. From engaging in trash talks to proving people wrong after they told him off, MJ has done it all on the hardwood.

A 32-year-old clip has resurfaced, displaying the Bulls legend at the peak of his trash talk.

Michael Jordan dedicated an iconic free throw to his opponent

On the 23 of November, 1991, the Chicago Bulls faced off against the Denver Nuggets. During a free throw awarded to the Bulls, Micheal stepped up to the line and showed off his reliable stroke. With a mere five seconds left on the clock, Michael decided to engage in some fun. Turning to Nuggets player Dikembe Mutombo, he said “Hey, Mutombo. This one’s for you, baby.” His Airness would then proceed to make the free throw with his eyes closed. As onlookers watched on, the ball easily sank through the hoop.

While Mutombo was known for being an effective shot blocker, engaging in his famous finger wag whenever he did block a shot, he was not always known to be an effective free throw shoot. Michael’s remarks were nothing but a fun way to roast the player.

The video capturing the iconic moment was recently posted on the official Twitter handle of ‘Super 70s Sports’. In just a few hours it has reached over 427700 views.

Many fans have also taken up to the comments section to share their thoughts on the video.

A majority of the comments had people calling Michael Jordan a ‘GOAT’.

One user saw something else in Jordan’s free throw, commenting “He’s not the (goat emoji) cuz he closed his eyes. He’s the (goat emoji) because he comes off as having fun, not just showing off.”

Twitter user Renee Celini experienced a slight moment of nostalgia, commenting “Those were the days I used to love watching basketball with my dad.”
