The Los Angeles Sparks hold on to two picks in the first-round picks in the 2024 draft. And for the first time in the franchise’s history, it got the second pick. While both the franchise and fans are excited about the prospect, the question is who will be chosen as the second pick. Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas and his co-host NFL veteran Shannon Sharpe emphasized on one player who could bring the best deal to the Sparks. The LSU sensation Angel Reese is currently in talks for her abilities which can elevate the team’s power. 

Speaking in the latest episode of Nightcap, the two weighed in on how the 21-year-old could be a game-changer for the team. “Angel Reese. That’s the personality you need here. The person that’s gonna sell the tickets right? You need the personality in Los Angeles. The Purple and Gold is built of names charisma style swagger, she checks those boxes off,” Arenas said. “She is a heck of a player,” Sharpe agreed.

Popularly known as Bayou Barbie, she is one of only five LSU players to score more than 2,000 career points. Moreover, Reese possesses exceptional ball-handling abilities, passing skills, and defensive prowess, making her versatile on the court. That’s evident with the 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds she has averaged per game during her 69 games for the LSU. With her rebounding skills, it will be hard to argue with Arenas and Sharpe. Her unique fashion style, long eyelashes and charming aura have points too.

However, Cameron Brink who gives a tough competition to Reese leaves the Sparks in a tough position.

Serena Williams inspired Angel Reese’s WNBA Draft move

The 21-year-old announced the news during her fashion shoot with Vogue. Reese shared that she was inspired by how tennis giant Serena Williams broke the news of her retirement in a photo shoot with Vogue in 2022. Not so surprising for the most fashionable and iconic college basketball star. After her success with the Tigers, she wants to take her talent to the next level.

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college. I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten (SEC) Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro — and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready,” Reese said about her decision to leave LSU.
