Since 2014, Michael Jordan has been a billionaire. He made almost all his money after he retired from basketball. His shoes, Air Jordan, were the main reason behind it.
In the fiscal year 2022, Air Jordans brought in nearly 5.1 billion dollars to Nike. Because of the deal that Jordan signed when he got into the league, he made 5% of all sales for the Jordan Brand. This gave him 256 million dollars in 2022.

Since signing with Nike in 1984, the brand has paid Jordan over 1.5 billion dollars. But Jordan deserves every penny of this, as he is the reason for the brand being where it is right now.
