Shaquille O’Neal is undoubtedly a success story professionally. Yet, he missed out on perfection on the family front. He has been quite open about it in recent years. Back in 2002, Shaquille O’Neal tied the knot with Shaunie Nelson, now Henderson. Together, the couple welcomed four children.

But things didn’t work out, and finally, Shaq and Shaunie parted ways in 2011 on a good note. It feels like Shakespeare’s “All’s well that ends well,” right? But there’s a twist in this tale. Interestingly, Shaunie has a different take on her married life with her now-divorced husband Shaquille O’Neal.

To share her side of the story, Shaunie Henderson sat down and wrote her insights in a book. On May 7th, she officially released her book with the title, “Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms.” As expected, within hours of its release, the book made waves online, garnering attention from the basketball world.

But why? Actually, Shaunie revealed some unknown facts in her recent book release. “Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out how to be a good wife under circumstances that were more than a little unusual. We both could have made better decisions. Neither of us took the time to invest in our future by seeking marriage counseling, which, looking back, we probably should have,” she said. But this isn’t everything she said.

Shaq’s divorce, Shaunie’s way

Shaq’s divorce has been a controversial topic for a long time. In 2007, Shaq for the first time filed for divorce, but surprisingly, he later withdrew the petition. However, in 2009, once again, the divorce was filed, but this time by his wife Nelson. And finally, both parted ways officially.

Since then, both of them had been on good terms in the public eye. But Shaunie’s accusations have dropped bombshells. “Before I go any further, it’s important that I stress that I’m not blaming Shaquille for what happened to our marriage,” Shaunie said to not offend Shaq.

She added, “He did the best he could with the tools he had. So did I. He was trying to be a world-famous, thirty-something multimillionaire with thousands of women throwing themselves at him, and people, in general, begging just to be in his presence, while being a husband and a father at the same time.

Even though Shaunie made herself clear that she is at peace with Shaq, her recent release has raised eyebrows for many. Now, readers are seeking answers from Shaquille O’Neal for the allegations Shaunie levied on him. Stay tuned to know more!
