Ties With $655 Million League Tip-Off Dwyane Wade’s First Step in Global Domination

Dwyane Wade returned to China on his Way of Wade Tour but the 2024 edition is just a little more special. He’s joined by a team that’s furthering his dream. The retired NBA pro is going full steam ahead with Wade Basketball Academy. He’s given several youngsters some All-Star coaching during this tour and he’s celebrating a successful launch with his team.

The 3x NBA champion shared an update on his Instagram stories with the “Official partner of my Wade Basketball Academy.” His business partner is apparently Li Ning which is the parent company of the Way of Wade brand.

Wade and his son, Zaire, are making the most of their Asian adventures. Students of Wade Basketball Academy received some NBA-grade coaching from D-Wade himself along with Zaire and more pros. Chris Johnson, a prolific NBA coach who has whipped Wade, LeBron James and Rajon Rondo into shape, joined him on this tour.

He was ecstatic to coach youngsters alongside the 2006 Finals MVP on the first stop of the Wade Basketball Academy. “Dreams do come true!! D Wade @dwyanewade had a vision about building his ‘Wade Basketball Academy’ around the world and Asia will be our first stop. Thank you bro for believing in me and Jus Hoop to lead the way for building our International basketball Academy..”

Coach Johnson also confirmed that their coaching venture is going to go a lot farther by writing, “WE WILL BE COUNTRY NEAR YOU.” We’re waiting for Wade to reveal where his camp is heading to next. Nonetheless, his recent tour is going swell.

The Way of Wade Instagram page provided a thrilling recap of the ‘Wade Basketball Academy Xiamen Stop.’ From the looks of it, his camp in collaboration with Li Ning is creating the future class of CBA stars. That’s probably what reunited him with an old rival.

Wade met Yao Ming, the current president of the CBA, which is valued at an estimated $655 million. He’s better remembered as a Houston Rockets legend who gave the Wade’s Miami Heat a tough time. The rivalry is a thing of the past as he shared their reunion during his Way of Wade Tour.

He’s shared several other updates of his young students. In one of the updates, he was caught pulling his NBA-honed tactics against one teen athlete guarding him aggressively. Dwyane Wade cheekily described that experience, “I’m old but he challenged me.” If this is the kind of lesson taught at Wade Basketball Academy, sign us up.
