The Event is the biggest occasion on Shaquille O’Neal‘s annual calendar for many reasons. One of them is his family. The O’Neal brood comes together to raise money for the NBA superstar’s nonprofit. When family comes together, there’s bound to be drama. And when you’re a family of giants, it gets even more dramatic. Something similar happened at the recent gathering for the fam. While most refrain from airing family laundry in public, Me’Arah and her ‘uncle’ just had to.

This would top the star-studded affair that was The Event. Shaq made it even more special for his loved ones while raising money for a good cause.

Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter annoys her uncle

Las Vegas was overrun by Shaq’s brood this weekend. Apart from the Los Angeles Lakers champion, his kids and family were enjoying a fun time at the entertainment capital. Between all the fundraising festivities, the family had the opportunity to spend time with each other.

Also in attendance at this family dinner was Anthony “Chicago” Hall. He’s best known as a comedian, actor, and Shaquille O’Neal’s best friend and brother. He’s the honorary uncle to Shaq’s kids and therefore family. Like any uncle, he’s also subject to some ribbing.

Hall shared a little update before he headed up to The Event on his Instagram Stories. Complementing a picture of Me’Arah O’Neal, he wrote, “So this weekend at our family dinner before The Event I was having a conversation w/my niece Me’Arah O’Neal and she was looking down at me. I told her to sit your a** down so we could finish the conversation. What the hell is going on here?”

He’d throw a few laughing with tears emojis for good measure. Me’Arah didn’t miss the opportunity to share it on her Instagram Stories with a series of laughing emojis of her own.

No family dinner is complete without one of the young ‘uns towering over an adult or two. That’s guaranteed at an O’Neal family gathering. While Hall has spent his entire friendship with Big Diesel being dwarfed by the 7’1″ titan, his siblings are getting there too. At 6’4″, Me’Arah is just as imposing as her dad. Even seated, she can look down at her uncle. That’s now going to be his story at every family dinner.

Shaquille O’Neal’s family comes together for charity

Anthony Hall would produce Shaquille O’Neal’s All-Star Comedy Jam Live from Atlanta in 2013. Their friendship is for the books, roasting each other back and forth. Shaq usually has the upper hand with his size.

After sufficiently teasing Hall, Shaq and Me’Arah headed to the MGM Grand venue where The Event was hosted. Shaq paid $20,000 for his mom, Lucille to have an exclusive seat on the stage, closer to the performers. He’d spend $50,000 more to get her a luxury vacation to Bora Bora.

Meanwhile, Me’Arah would also enjoy a night out on the town and show it off on Instagram.
