Dwyane Wade is steadily building an empire in his name. The NBA veteran is one of the sharpest minds in the business and post-retirement he has been on a relentless pursuit to expand his business. However, what most people fail to realize is that he has been putting in the work for years to be able to manage his brand as a seasoned businessman.

Wade graduated college from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2003. The same year, he was drafted by the Miami Heat and went on to have a Hall of Fame career, hanging his boots up in 2019.

Recently, D-Wade was on CNBC where he talked about his special association with Harvard and the case study designed on his life as a businessman. He said, “One of the case studies was dealing with one of my…I was with Stance, the socks company. So, it was dealing with that partnership, did I do the right thing…what should I have done? I think it also covered maybe my shoe deal at the time as well. I signed a shoe deal with Li Ning, have my own brand. I think it dealt with that.”


Wade got to see different perspectives on his business decisions and took notes from some of the sharpest minds in the world. He said, “So it was just a case study around my businesses and it’s been cool to go back in different years to sit in the classroom and hear what the students have to say like what they would have done differently. What they think I should’ve done.”

Dwyane Wade also completed an executive course at Harvard

Before Wade got a case study designed after him at Harvard, the 3x NBA champion attended an executive business class at the prestigious university. Back in 2015, the Heat legend completed a 4-Day Executive Course at Harvard. The program was called The Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports. Back when the NBA superstar used to be active on Snapchat, he shared the exciting news on his profile with his fans.

Apart from completing the program and gaining crucial knowledge on business, there was one more thing that Wade was very excited about. He said, “I get to have a Harvard sweater. I can’t wait.” His life is exemplary of hard work and perseverance, and he is ensuring his legacy is not restricted to just basketball.
