Michael Jordan, the undisputed basketball legend, touched down on the island, sparking speculation about business ventures or a luxury retreat. Meanwhile, Jake Paul, the internet sensation-turned-boxer, turned his trip into a milestone moment, proposing to Olympic speed skater Jutta Leerdam.

Though their careers couldn’t be more different, their presence in the same tropical paradise is an exciting moment for the natives.

Just a few hours ago, Michael Jordan was seen at the airport in St. Lucia. He was all smiles, posing alongside a customs officer for pictures. MJ took his special private jet, the Gulfstream G650ER, for the 1,600-mile journey between Florida and St. Lucia. Said to accommodate 19 people, this lavish jet is worth nearly $65 million, as per reports. And it requires a whopping $3 million annually in maintenance.

The locals are thrilled to welcome Jordan. Soon after his arrival, a netizen Gregory Philbert shared a FB reel sharing some of the snaps of Jordan and wrote, “Warmest Welcome to St. Lucia, Basketball Legend Michael Jordan!* On behalf of the people of St. Lucia, it is our absolute pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the one and only Michael Jordan!”

It is unknown whether the Chicago Bulls legend is in St. Lucia for business or vacation. Two tourists shared photos of him enjoying the day and basking in the sunlight on his luxurious yacht. “Michael Jordan’s yacht off of Sugar Beach, Saint Lucia. We looked it up and confirmed it was his. Apparently it’s one of four ya hys he has,” the tourist James Savage wrote in the caption. 

From the looks of it, the yacht is likely Michael Jordan’s M’BRACE yacht. Reportedly bought in 2022, this spacious 244-ft-long yacht can accommodate about 12 guests and a crew of 24. This yacht too requires an eye watering $10 million annually for maintenance costs.

The newly released photos of YouTuber-turned-boxer and his girlfriend, Jutta Leerdam, announcing their engagement have thrilled fans. Paul chose St. Lucia’s iconic Piton Mountains as background for the special moment. These pictures showed the beautiful setting with flowers, rose petals, and candles.

The Dutch speed skater wore a white outfit. One of the pictures showed Paul down on his one knee proposing to his girlfriend. The breathtaking photos are making rounds on social media. Leerdam also shared a closer look at her diamond ring. The piece has a large elongated oval-cut diamond in the centre which is reported to be worth $1 Million.

“Jutta’s ring features a large elongated oval-cut diamond in the center with two half-moon diamonds on either side. Three-stone designs like this are a popular choice with couples, as they’re often said to represent their past, present, and future together, which suggests Jake has put a lot of thought into his proposal,” jewelry specialist Laura Taylor told The Independent.
