“Waterboys, Couch Potatoes and Stoops”: Phoenix Legend Steps Up for LeBron James Against Biggest FOX Hater Skip Bayless

The Los Angeles Lakers‘ misery against the Denver Nuggets continues. LeBron James & Co suffered their 5th straight playoff loss against Nikola Jokic & Co. The 39-year-old superstar alongside Anthony Davis went off to a flying start against the Nuggets, entering the locker room after the first half with a lead. However, after the break, the 4x NBA Champion was completely off his rhythm and barely contributed in the last quarter.
Because of the underwhelming performance in the second half, veteran analyst Skip Bayless long-time critic of LeBron took to X to voice his displeasure. In the 1 minute 49 seconds video, called him a ‘Diva’. But this 17-year NBA veteran had enough of Bayless’s behavior and called him ‘Waterboys, couch potatoes and stoops.‘

It’s not the first time that Eddie A Johnson has called out Bayless’s behavior. LeBron James’ output did dip in the second half and Johnson feels it was because of the nature of the game. Yet this would never be understood by someone who only lifts their feet to the fridge and the pantry,‘ clearly meaning it for Bayless.

“LeBron James can be such a Diva. I just watched him play the last 9 minutes at Denver and take two shots once the game was completely over because he wanted to make a point. He pouted those last minutes because he was so stung by the criticism… for the fourth-quarter flameouts.” LeBron could add only 4 points in the last quarter and one of them came when only 35 seconds were left in the game.
Previously ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has brought out a similar criticism, particularly pointing out James’ failure in the 2011 NBA Finals. During that series, the Heat lost three straight games after a 2-1 series lead. In that series, during Game 4 and Game 5, James scored 0 and 2 points, respectively.

After raining down criticisms on the superstar, Bayless had an interesting way to end his monologue. He concluded, “How could anybody watch something like that and think this guy was the GOAT. You think Kobe would have done that, you think Jordan would have done that. It was just an embarrassment. It was just so LeBron James.”

But Skip Bayless is known to change his tune, previously he was in awe that LeBron could maintain his fitness while chasing the 40k points milestone.
Anyway, the Lakers will have to wait at Denver for another game before they head to their home game. Will the Lakers break the streak? Will Akron Hammer seek to reply with his performance in Game 2?
