After that nailbiter finish, the Milwaukee Bucks at least have Candace Parker in their corner. But she’s pretty outnumbered at the TNT Studio today for her style statement. A double overtime game ended in 128-124 in favor of the Los Angeles Lakers, something Shaquille O’Neal was sure was going to happen. Shaq though was mildly distracted by Parker’s floral jacket.

She tried to get Shaq on her side with talk about how they’ve also had moments of losing focus in their careers. But her jacket, which was a character of its own today, stole the focus when Jamal Crawford quipped, “How are we gonna focus with you wearing that?” 

O’Neal serenaded Parker with his own remix of “Candy Shop,” replacing candy with flowers in the lyrics. He’s breezy because of his confidence in his Lakers. But Parker said, “A lot of people are going to critique them [Bucks] giving up leads but based on our concentration in March on the desk, I mean we got singing, we got you [Adam Lefkoe] going wa-la-la-la-la, sometimes teams are gonna go through times where they have to get to the end of the year.”

The Bucks and Lakers went back and forth. Without LeBron James in the game, Anthony Davis outdueled Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Other than making 34,  23 rebounds, and 4 blocks, the Brow played 52 minutes through a banged up knee and made the game-saving blocks that took them to double overtime.

Though the Bucks made it a close call at the end of the regulation minutes and the first overtime, it can’t be overlooked that they have lost twice to LeBron-less Lakers. At least Shaq knows the Bucks’ issues become glaring when they’re not playing against the King; something he predicted for the Lakers beforehand. However, this intense double overtime could not overshadow the real star of tonight.

Candace Parker ‘rose’ to the occasion

Unlike the dull suit-wearing boys, Candace Parker strutted into Studio J fit for spring in her floral jacket. As if Shaq didn’t argue with fans over his dolphin/fishy/aquamarine suit, he got on the WNBA champ for her style statement. He started the broadcast with this gem. “You wanna hear this song?… Roses really smell like!”

The double overtime game gave him plenty of time to come up with more ‘flowery’ jokes. He was showered with very lightweight fake roses and joked his favorite actress is Rosie Perez. He even encouraged fans to send in their best jokes on Candace’s jacket in exchange for him reading them on the air.
