He loves bass, he loves TikTok, and he’s bringing both of them together. Shaquille O’Neal announced he’s one of the headlining stars of TikTok’s first ever music festival. DJ Diesel performed at the TikTok In The Mix event on December 10 after he watched his old team take the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament cup this weekend. It caps a successful streak this week for the multi-hyphenate NBA legend.

The TikTok festival streamed live on the platform on Sunday. Shaq was on Instagram making sure his fans will be there. And that’s not the last of DIESEL before 2023 ends.

TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal had a busy week. He was on top of the In-Season coverage till the Los Angeles Lakers won the cup. Then he was making sure that everyone knew where he was heading to next. An adept TikToker, Shaq made sure the folks at Instagram didn’t miss his announcement.

Catch me @djdiesel at In The Mix – the music experience from @tiktok . Streaming LIVE this Sunday on TikTok. See you in the mix! #TikTok_Partner,” he wrote on Instagram with a video explaining the same.

The event at Mesa, Arizona hosted more big names besides DJ Diesel. Besides Cardi B, Brazilian superstar, Anitta performed at the Sloan Park event. Other big names in music at the festival were Offset, Charlie Puth, and Niall Horan.

But nothing gets bigger than the Big Aristotle. O’Neal’s headbanging sets have their own set of fans in the dubstep genre with performances at Lollapalooza, Lost Lands, and even pregame events at college campuses under DJ Diesel‘s belt. He’s even launched his own bass music festival.

Shaq has been going strong musically recently. He collaborated with Damian Lillard to remix Meek Mill and Rick Ross’ “Shaq & Kobe” weeks ago. Between his multiple philanthropic events, he was working on more music. And it wasn’t just dropping “3 Lokos” with the hip-hop duo, Coyote.

He co-signed GAWNE for a new collaboration this month. Shaq wrote his verse, recorded the song, filmed a music video and dropped the track with the Chicago rapper on December 8. He also showed his colleague his appreciation by gifting him a $1 million Rolls Royce.

No word on whether Shaq and Gawne would share the stage together any time soon to perform “Chaos” live. But the giant has more things on the cards.

DJ Diesel’s upcoming events

Shaq’s weeks are ever-changing as the busy man has a packed schedule. The holidays are peak Shaq-A-Claus season but that’s usually a surprise event sprung on little kids. He’s saving the headbanging dates for the new year.

Wanting to change the EDM scene, Shaq launched an all-female edition of his Bass All-Stars music festival. He took it up a notch with an impromptu casting call in October. He recruited bass upstart, So&So straight off X to collaborate with during his Jan 5 show. Mission Ballroom, that kickstarted the all-female Bass All-Stars, will host Shaq and his new entourage of EDM talent the first week of 2024.
