The year 2024 was not at all lovely for Larsa Pippen. The breakup with Marcus Jordan was in the spotlight the entire year. Even though she made rules about not falling in love quickly, it seems the wedding bells will ring soon. She reportedly has been dating basketball star Jeff Coby since January. The 31-year-old athlete confirmed that November could be the month when they tie the knot. But due to Pippen’s recent comment, her previous relationship is again in the spotlight.
Her short-lived romance with former NBA star Malik Beasley was in 2020. Larsa opened up about that moment on The Jason Lee Show and accepted that their relationship wasn’t a good idea. “I had COVID brain. I just had COVID… Was stuck in my house, I hadn’t gone anywhere. He was there. He was like, on me.” Candid as ever, she labeled the relationship a “mistake”—something she’s clearly ready to move on from. But just like any relationship of the RHOM actress, even this had its share of controversy.
Beasley and Pippen were an official couple in November 2020, when a photo of them holding hands went viral. Despite the relationship lasting only 4 months, it had its different layers. The problem with the photo of the two surfaces was an issue because the NBA star was still married at the time. His wife, Montano Yao, with whom he shares two children with found it via social media. She even vented, “Wow … I don’t even know this man. This is wild y’all I’m seeing it for the first time just like y’all.”

Until very recently, Larsa Pippen maintained the stance that Yao and Beasley were separated when she started dating him. But Yao denied those claims. She filed for divorce once she found out about this situation. However, after Pippen and Beasley broke up in April, Yao reconciled in December. The former Lakers star made a public apology first before they reconciled. But in March this year, the mother of two filed for separation, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
So, a relationship that only lasted for a short time brought a lot of backlash for Larsa Pippen. Another crazy part of their story was that her son and Beasley were on the same team.

On The Jason Lee Show, Larsa Pippen made sure to clear all the rumors about her past relationship. “They never actually played together,” she said of her son and Beasley. “We didn’t have a dramatic fallout, and Scotty respected his mom’s privacy—there was no locker‑room drama”. She continued, suggesting that there was just a conversation and nothing else was required. “They had a conversation when they were on the same team, and it was fine. It wasn’t like we had a really bad breakup or anything.”

Interestingly, her son at the time also made some comments. “Focused on myself and my goals. I’m not responsible for nobody’s actions. All good over here,” Pippen Jr. wrote on X in 2020. To date, he has offered no further public comment on this relationship with her mother. But know all of this is in the rearview for Larsa Pippen as she is currently steady with Jeff Coby.
