Nate Robinson went from having it all to suffering in life within a few years. It is worth mentioning that the stats cannot justify how good a player Nate Robinsons was. Despite being just 5’9″, he was known for his athleticism and leaps on the court. The fact that he became the first-ever NBA player to win 3 NBA Slam Dunk contests says a lot in this context. But his NBA career gradually came to an end, with his kidney failure issue being the final nail in the coffin.

Meanwhile, on the personal front as well, the former New York Knicks star once had a happy family scenario going on for himself. Notably, Robinson was married to his high school sweetheart and even had three children with her. But it all ended for him after his case of infidelity came to light. A closer look into Nate Robinson’s family

As stated above, the former Knicks star was married to his high school love interest, Sheena Felitz. But somehow there is no known official date of the couple’s marriage. It is worth mentioning that the couple brought three children — Nahmier, Nyale and Nayvi — into this world through their relationship.

The former NBA star’s eldest son, Nahmier Robinson (aka Meezy) was born on October 26, 2004. During his high school phase, ‘Meezy’ was a two-way standout just like his father. However, he gave a certain preference to football and managed 500 combined receiving and rushing yards on offense for his Skyline High School. Moving ahead in the same direction, he opted to play as Cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Coming to Nate Robinson’s second son with Sheena Felitz, Nyale (aka Rico) was born on July 16, 2006. Unlike his elder brother, Rico followed in his father’s footsteps and chose basketball as his preferred sport. However, the similarities do not end here as he played for the same school for which his father did — Rainier Beach High School. It is worth mentioning that the school retired Nate Robinson’s jersey in 2001.

As for the couple’s youngest child, the duo welcomed their daughter Nayvi (aka Blue) on Sept. 17, 2009. Although not much information is available on her career progression, it is known that she also chose basketball and became a part of the 2028 class at Seattle Academy. So it can be said that everything was near perfect for Nate Robinson in terms of the family life scenario. However, it ended once it came to light that he had a fourth child (Nasir) with another woman.

A look back at Robinson and his wife’s moments of separation

When the former Knicks star’s incident of infidelity was revealed, he tried his best to seek forgiveness from his wife. “I have to give this woman … the biggest apology in the world … Sheena, I’m very sorry for all I have done to you, all the times I crushed [your] heart and feelings … I’m sorry for not being the man that you want me to be,” he wrote via Bella Naija in 2016. He further asked for forgiveness for all his wrongs and mistakes. And he also requested his wife to not judge him for his mistake.

However, the apology did not work for the former NBA star’s wife. This became clear after Robinson shared a photo of Sheena and their children, captioned, “Hate saying goodbyes … Especially When the goodbye isn’t the way you would have wanted it … I’m going to miss my family more than anything, they hold me down when others wouldn’t … Love you guys with all my heart …”

Some in the comments had some sense of sympathy for Robinson, but the majority of fans criticized him for ruining his perfect family. However, what stayed a mystery amid all of this was the woman’s identity, who conceived the former Knicks star’s fourth child.
