“You & me,” Dwight Howard‘s wife captioned their wedding picture on Instagram. The Orlando Magic Hall of Famer, Howard has had a great NBA career, averaging 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds. The numbers don’t quite capture how dominant he was with the Magic, especially in 2009 going up against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Now, with his Hall of Fame induction, it all comes full circle. And he has his favorite person by his side to celebrate this big moment. The basketball legend got married earlier in February this year. Do you know who he is married to? 

Rather than a big, extravagant wedding with many guests, the two lovebirds chose a very minimal and private ceremony. Both wore matching pink casual fits as they said their vows. Howard’s wife, Amy Luciani, held a bouquet of lovely pink and white roses while the ex NBA player had a rose in his hand too. She shared the picture on her Instagram. Luciani might be a very familiar name.

She is a social media influencer, an inspiring music artist, and YouTube sensation. Most of you might remember her from Seasons 11 and 12 of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, an MTV reality series. It showed the lives of the local artists. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Amy has always been inspired by music. She started her career in an all-girl singing group called Entrance with her three sisters. 

“We used to tour, we used to open up for Bow Wow, B2K. We were on TV shows. We all sung and rap so at one point, we were the little girls in Detroit rapping,” she said. Though most of you know her as Amy, her real name is Amber Rose. In a conversation with All Hip Hop, the rapper said that she changed it when it began to cause confusion due to the model with the same name, Amber Rose.

To pursue her love for music, she later moved to Atlanta. She went on to release her first  first EP, Amy’s World, in 2023. Apart from her music career, she is also involved in several other business ventures. Not only her career, she also believes in giving back to society. Amy has a charity which is to help people facing housing issues in Atlanta. She also wrote a children’s book called Good Touch, Bad Touch. And her songs continue to inspire people and empower them. 

She has a lot of love for animals and even had a pet goat. Howard shares the same love for animals. And perhaps this is what brought the two close. It is a whirlwind romance. The two had been dating for quite some time before announcing their engagement in December 2024. Since then, the rapper has always been there for the former NBA player. She even takes to social media to defend her husband.

After announcing their marriage, the couple was seen enjoying some quality time in Thailand. The two reasons for the celebration were the New Year festivities and Howard daughter’s Jayde’s birthday. He makes a point to be present for all his kids.

However, his eldest, Braylon, had in the past accused him of being an absent father. As some netizens online criticized when the former NBA player spends time with his kids, Luciani was quick to defend him.

“You mean these kids that just went to Thailand with us in January? Or the kids that live with him full custody whom he gets up EVERY DAY 6am and drops off to Highschool then 8am elementary school drop off? Or the kids on stage having fun that we flew to Cali for Dancing With The Stars ?” she responded.

As Boxer Claressa Shields commented to show support to the couple, Luciani wrote, “sisssss you know personally I be sitting on my hands stopping myself from defending him but the whole absent Dad thing is the oneeeeee that boils my blood.”

Right after the announcement of their engagement, there were multiple allegations against Howard by his ex-girlfriend. During this tough time, Luciani showed immense faith in him. With adorable pictures of the two, the power couple continues to awe and inspire their fans.
