Daughter to Robin and John Kilgore, Redick’s wife has a twin sister, Kylee Jean, who works in a Public Relations company in New York City. 

Born in Florida on May 12, 1987, Chelsea completed her high school education in Canton Public School. She attained a degree in elementary education and teaching from Mississippi State University. Right after college, she began to look for opportunities in the fitness world. Both Chelsea and Redick share the same love for staying fit and healthy. Just as her Instagram bio suggests, she is a certified Pilates instructor.

She is also a part of the J. J. Redick Foundation. Often, when the Orlando Magic star is occupied with his job as an ESPN analyst, his wife helps him with the work in the organization. This foundation works closely to help and teach children to play basketball and encourage them to pursue their passion in whatever sport they like. The organization was formed in 2011, just one year after their marriage.

When did JJ Redick marry Chelsea Redick?

It’s not known how the two met. But as per a report by Clutch Points, the two crossed paths in 2008. Back then, the retired NBA player was playing for the Orlando Magic. He was selected as the 11th pick by the team. After dating for two years, the couple decided that it was time for them to step into the next phase of their life. In a somewhat private wedding ceremony in Palm Beach, the two tied the knot in June of 2010. For their 10th anniversary, the retired NBA player wrote a touching message for his wife. 

Sharing their nostalgic wedding photo on Instagram, Redick wrote, “Celebrating 10 years of marriage today. Happy Anniversary, Chelsea. The last ten years have been the best of my life. Thanks for your love, your friendship, and for being the best mom to Knox and Kai. Cheers to many more decades.”

The family has found happiness in a new apartment in Brooklyn close to Chelsea’s twin sister’s home. The couple shares two children together. Their first son, Knox, was born in August 2014. After two years, in August 2016, the couple welcomed their youngest, Kai. Knox, who seems to be following in his father’s footsteps is quite popular on social media. 

JJ Redick talks about retirement and fatherhood

In 2021, the veteran retired from the NBA and headed for the next phase of his life, which is to focus on his family. During a conversation in the UNINTERRUPTED short documentary, Redick shared, “I really care about my family. I really care about my kids. I really care about my wife. And I really care about their happiness. It’s a part of the decision.” 

He has also begun to coach his son’s team. Not to mention, Knox has already started to show his talents. Last year, an adorable clip of the 9-year-old kiddo winning against NBA player Josh Hart in a shooting contest won fans’ hearts. In a conversation with The Sun, the Orlando Magic legend said, “It’s time for me to be a dad. It’s time for me to reflect, pause, and it’s time for me to get ready for the next phase of my life.”
