Ex-NBA star Kenny Smith is now nearing four decades in the field of sports. This includes his decade-long career as an NBA athlete and the subsequent stint as a broadcaster with TNT sports for over two decades. Notably, Smith started his NBA career with Sacramento Kings in 1987 and retired from the league in 1997. Following this, what started off with Turner sports in 1998 has continued to this day when the company has been renamed to TNT sports. However, behind the glitz and glamor of his professional success, Smith could not avoid personal challenges, including a failed marriage.

Kenny Smith married actress and former model Gwendolyn Osborne and the partnership lasted over a decade. Their union, which commenced in 2006, lasted for twelve years before parting of ways in 2012. It is worth mentioning that during their time together; the duo welcomed two children into their lives, Malloy and London. However, Osborne also had a daughter from a previous relationship, adding further layers to their familial dynamics.

Gwendolyn Osborne, born on August 7, 1978, hails from Bath, Somerset, England. While details about her parents remain relatively obscure, the only known facts are that her father hailed from Britain, while her mother was of Jamaican descent. Notably, Osborne’s growth years were predominantly spent in Europe, before she eventually relocated to the United States.

Osborne’s professional trajectory saw a pivotal shift with her entry into modeling, a move that initially garnered significant attention. However, it was her transition to television that truly placed her in the spotlight. Notably, her most acknowledged work has been her appearance on ‘The Price is Right’. Not only did she appear in one of the most popular game shows, but became the longest running woman of color on a daytime game show.

However, Osborne did not limit herself to the television industry and went on to become a part of some notable movies like Wonder Woman 1984, Jack and Jill, and Any Given Sunday. But it seems she did not want to be known just as a pretty face who made it in the show business as she also co-founded Smith Entertainment Group along with Kenny Smit. Now, although she was the COO of the company at one point, her status has after the divorce is not available in the public domain.

As per the media reports, Smith and Osborne had met each other at a charity event back in 2004. And it took just two years for them to reach the conclusion of getting married. And as the destiny would have it, the duo got married in September 2006 at a ceremony held at their California residence.

But it seems the relationship between the two was not destined to last longer than 12 years as the couple decided to separate in 2018. Osborne, who had initiated the divorce, told ‘The Blast’ back then that no was to be blamed for the fate their relationship suffered. She further mentioned that moving ahead, their focus is on co-parenting their children.

However, it was not as if there was no drama around the separation of the couple. Notably, Kenny Smith reportedly paid $1 million as a divorce settlement, but there was more to it. He was also made to pay more than $16,000 per month for the child support, along with over $25,000 for the spousal support. Apart from this, Smith had to share joint legal and physical custody of their children, as per which he is responsible for covering their tuition fees and health insurance costs. The sole relief in this settlement for Kenny Smith is that all these payments have to made till 2028 only.
