The fans’ favorite, The Chi, has concluded its sixth season well. While some eagerly await the next season, others are puzzled by the departure of three key cast members. One of them is former NBA player Iman Shumpert, who portrayed Rob in the series. While he deals with his complicated divorce proceedings in real life, it seems this is the end of Shumpert’s character on the Showtime series. Potential spoilers ahead.

Shumpert’s character, Rob, featured for the first time in Season 4 of the series. In the 6th season, Rob gets killed by another character named Nuck, played by Cortez Smith. For refusing to fall in line, Nuck shoots Rob multiple times and leaves his body on the steps of his mother’s courthouse. Two other actors who left the series are Curtiss Cook and Tyla Abercrumbie.

In September last year, Teyana Taylor officially announced her separation from the former NBA player to the public. The singer tried to keep the divorce proceedings a secret until the media found out in November. She initially filed for a divorce in 2022 but withdrew it just after one day.

Then again, she filed for divorce in January last year. Just seven months later, the first part of Season 6 of the show was released in August 2023. As per some reports, a settlement has been finally reached.

The two got married in 2015 and share two children, Rue Rose III and Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert. As per a report by the Daily Mail, the 2016 NBA champion submitted a document in June requesting a revision of his child support payments to $8,000. He stated his monthly income was $48,000. Moreover, he claimed Taylor earns $94,000, which is comparatively higher.

The singer argued that Shumpert withdrew $4 million from their joint accounts. Moreover, she added that she also has to pay a $200,000 home renovation bill. Per a report by TMZ, the court instructed the two to reach a mutual agreement on child support payments and submit their divorce settlement documents by June 27 of this year, or else their case would be dismissed.

Moreover, despite using initials in the divorce filings, some documents were leaked. The singer expressed her frustration with several misleading articles and news on social media. “My court documents aren’t clickbait for your salacious headlines,” the singer wrote on her Instagram Story. However, as per The Jasmine Brand, a judge in Georgia Fulton County Court ruled that Taylor will be granted four martial properties with a total worth of approximately $10 million.

Shumpert, on the other hand, has been asked to pay a one-time seven-figure settlement fee, but he gets to keep his residences in Miami, South Georgia, and Decatur. He will also retain his portion of investments in their businesses. Furthermore, he will pay Taylor $8,000 in child support while covering private school fees for their daughters.
