What’s the best part about the Los Angeles Lakers? For most spectators, it’s LeBron James. However, lately, the team’s fortunes have taken a turn for the worse. Just days ago, the Lakers suffered a defeat against the Denver Nuggets, squandering their chance to contend for the NBA championship this season.

The loss sparked questions about their inability to keep up with the competition, despite having talented players like LeBron James. The spotlight intensified as the Lakers relieved head coach Darvin Ham, who accused LeBron of the recent loss. Consequently, not only Darvin, but the entire coaching staff, including Phil Handy and Austin Reaves, were let go.

Now, the search is on for a new coach who can not only manage the Lakers’ locker room but also commit years of dedication to the team. For the Lakers, this task is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Currently, the Lakers have viable options to choose from, including Kenny Atkinson, Mike Budenholzer, and JJ Redick.

As the viable options were discussed, JJ Redick specifically captured the attention of the basketball world. Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner also joined the conversation. Turner and Iguodala’s take on JJ Redick as Laker’s coach

Of course, signing a deal with the Lakers as a head coach is something worth its weight for gold. But, when you have a staggering net worth of $50 million and an illustrative media career, it’s probably not. While analyzing this fact, Iguodala weighed in, “Oh, I wonder if his name’s actually there. I mean, that would be interesting.”

He also added, “He’s never been a coach. I have no idea. So, I don’t have any opinion either way. I know he’s a great basketball player. I think he just does such a great job at what he does. And then, he’s making good money now. I don’t know why he would go to the head. That’s what I was confused about. Yeah, but when we spoke to him that Wednesday, he was just like, well, I don’t know.

In conclusion, it’s unlikely that Redick would take up the position of Lakers’ head coach, especially when he’s unaware of the offer. What are your views on this? Comment down below!
