Shaq kept it larger than life as usual when he dropped by Austin last week. The Concourse Project on March 8 featured DJ Diesel in a cowboy hat behind the console. As Shaquille O’Neal has a special affinity for Texas, the festivities were over the top. Now the star himself is sharing proof of how that went down.

Through his DJ Diesel Instagram page, Shaq dropped different highlights of his set at The Concourse Project. “Big drops bc everything bigger in Texas… @theconcourseproject let’s do it again,” he wrote. Some of the “big drops” he’s referring to are listed – Ray Volpe’s “ID,” Diesel and Bandlez and Rated R’s “Tornado” with Samplifire and Yakz’s  “Menticide,” Hedex’s “Semi Automatic,” and Crankdat’s “ID.”

This set list was responsible for amplifying the energy in the mosh pit. One of his clips showed concert attendees going wild to the music. His collaborator, Ray Volpe, was ecstatic to be a part of it. He commented, “DIESEL HITTIN EM W THE SONG REQUEST” for Shaq using their song.

Just before the event started, several locals spotted the 7’1″ giant having lunch at a restaurant, Willie’s Grill & Icehouse, close to the venue. He also took a few photos with the staff and diners there. While he hilariously towered over the locals in their pictures, others were left jealous of Austin residents.

Fans want more of DJ Diesel

Now that Shaq has shown how crazy a DJ Diesel concert can get, many who missed it are expressing their dejection in the comments. Most of them went to Beyond Wonderland 2024 in SoCal which didn’t have Shaq.

O’Neal, a regular at Beyond, regretfully canceled the 2024 appearance due to an “international business trip.” He was going to be one of the highlights after the head-banging vibes he brought in 2022 and 2023. Several Beyond attendees sorely missed Shaq. But he promised to make it up to them, which could be a hint at what’s coming on the DJ Diesel tour.

Meanwhile, Shaq’s going to be in Kansas City next to lead the P&L Fan Fest after the Big 12 championships this weekend. He’s joining the TNT crew for March Madness in New York next week to cover the NCAA’s marquee tournament on Inside the NBA. O’Neal will also lead the Adobe Summit in Las Vegas, including presenting at Adobe Sneaks and deejaying at the Summit Bash. He’s determined to perform nationwide and could pop up in your city soon.
