In today’s world, the competition in sports that exists at the college level is unfathomable. Today, the rules for a college player to turn pro are extremely flexible. Incredible college talents are dropping out of college to start earning “big bucks” and extending their careers as professional athletes. However, the life of an athlete is extremely unpredictable and a single career-ending injury can make one regret not getting their college degree first.

In a recent “X” post, a 20-year-old football star gets interviewed by a former NFL star.

In a recent “X” post of “SEC Network”, former NFL star Tim Tebow interviews the 20-year-old Kentucky football star, Brock Bowers. Tim Tebow mentions what Kentucky Football coach Mark Stoops said about the 20-year-old, “Coach Stoops, this week, compared you to Michael Jordan. I mean, that’s incredible. What a compliment.” The former NFL star further adds, “He was saying “Listen, Brock is going to get his just like Michael Jordan always would. The Georgia Bulldogs football star smiles as he responds, “I mean…it’s pretty cool. I didn’t really expect all of that but uh…yeah…I mean, it’s quite a compliment.”. Brock Bowers is a 20-year-old college football player who plays for the University of Georgia. He plays the ‘Tight End’ position and is currently one of the players with the most potential in college American football currently.

The 20-year-old college football star was compared to the great Michael Jordan by a coach from another college football team. That speaks volumes to the talent and attitude of Brock Bowers, however, unlike Michael Jordan, he had a decorated high school career at Napa High School in Napa, California, and was named to the ‘All-American Bowl’ as a high school senior.

So how apparent was Michael Jordan’s greatness entering the NBA?

Was Michael Jordan’s ‘greatness’ apparent?

The Chicago Bulls legend’s aura was impenetrable. During his NBA career, he invoked real fear in his teammates as a way of motivating them to win NBA championships. He did everything in his power to win those NBA championships and only a few years into his professional NBA career, people were already calling him the greatest player to ever touch a basketball.

However, things weren’t always like this for the 6x NBA champion. He was ‘cut’ from his high school’s varsity team because apparently, they already had too many shooting guards. Later in his NBA career, Jordan opened up about this experience. He said that he ran home and cried after checking the Varsity roster sheet up and down. Over the summer, he grew 5 inches and made the Varsity team the next year.

In college, Jordan attended North Carolina University where he was coached by the legendary Dean Smith. He helped North Carolina win one national championship in three seasons. The ‘Tar Heels’ won the 1982 national championship when Jordan was just a freshman. Jordan hit the game-winning jumper against Georgetown, cementing North Carolina’s national championship in 1982.

It was Michael Jordan’s clutch shot in the finals against Georgetown that spoke volumes about Jordan’s personality. He was one of the top prospects entering the NBA but nobody predicted the incredible things that Jordan would go on to achieve in his life, on and off the court.
